Nintendo 64 - Crusin' Usa (Dear lord why!)
Was that the game that had the gravity adjustments & stunt mode or was that something else?

I've added the occasion the system was purchased for and what, to the best of my recollection, the last game I purchased for each system was. I think that's telling of how long each system lasted me.

Intellivision - My parents bought this when I was a wee lad and the first games I remember were Space Battle, NFL Football, and my favorite - Triple Action! The last game we bought was Beauty and the Beast.

Nintendo Entertainment System - I got this for Thanksgiving the year we moved from Iowa to Minnesota and Super Mario Bros. / Duck Hunt came with the system, but the first game we picked up was The Legend of Zelda. Pretty sure my last game was TMNT III.

Nintendo Gameboy - We found this at a park festival and no one claimed it for a few weeks so it became ours, well, my sister's. It came in a carrying case with Tetris, Super Mario Land, Kirby's Dream Land, and Wizards & Warriors. I think the last game my sister picked up was Yoshi's Island or Yoshi's Cookie or Yoshi's Pointless Branding Puzzle Game.

Super Nintendo - This was a Christmas present (one year after debut) that came with Super Mario World and the first game I picked up was The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. I'm beginning to see a common thread here. My last game was Tetris Attack and I miss it so very, very much. My system's over at my sister's and I get to play it every once in a while, though.

Nintendo 64 - I picked this up off eBay in college and it came with Mario 64, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Goldeneye, Mario Kart 64, Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire, and a few other games I don't remember. The last game I picked up was Perfect Dark for $7 though it was after I already picked up the...

Nintendo Gamecube - I bought this as a college graduation gift to myself and picked up Metroid Prime, The Simpsons: Road Rage, Rogue Squadron II, Resident Evil, with it, effectively ending my Mario / Zelda streak. The last game I bought was the Mega Man Collection but my last games were gifts, Lego Star Wars I and II.

Nintendo Wii - I snatched up the last one on the rack at Target last summer and it came with Wii Sports and I picked up Wii Play. too. First game I bought after that was Guitar Hero III. The last game I picked up was The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess last month on clearance (I still haven't opened it). The first game I bought on the Virtual Console was Elevator Action (my grandfather had the arcade version in his restaurant) and a few weeks ago I picked up Pokemon Puzzle Masters because of it's (shallow) resemblance to the aforementioned SNES classic, Tetris Attack. My wife and I are happy with our Wii and we're not done buying games yet...

I haven't owned that many consoles growing up, but here's what I can remember -

NES - Super Mario Bros. / Duck Hunt - came in the bundle.

Game Gear - Columns - came in the bundle (why we got this over a Gameboy is beyond me, and we didn't even get a Sonic game)

Slim PS2 - Final Fantasy X - my first console in ages, and disappointed after FFX sucked. God of War saved this purchase for me though

XBox 360 - Burnout Revenge came in the box, but the first game bought was probably Gears of War

Nintendo DS - New Super Mario Bros - pretty much bought a DS just for this game.

Nintendo Wii - Super Smash Bros Brawl - I had a Wii a couple weeks after launch but sold it since my roomate also bought one.

Correction: My first game for the Game Boy was Pac-Man, but traded it for Tetris in school. Both sides were real happy with the trade. My next game was Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins.

Do people actually read other people's lists? I always find threads like these where you are just listing stuff kind of boring. At least dogmatica is posting some thoughts. I find the same thing with the Top 10 Album, Movie, etc. threads. I like to read people's thoughts.

Of course just my opinion, but was curious about what other people thought.

Yeah, I hear you. I usually scan other people's lists to look for things that I'd recognize (in this case, I looked through lists to see who owned a Jaguar or a Lynx, since I owned both and they weren't exactly huge sellers). For me, churning out a list and scanning a thread like this is a way to kill a few minutes at work. But posting more than just the list is kinda futile, since (as you pointed out) others rarely read lists in a thread like this.

I am reading the lists to see if anyone else had an Atari ST. Almost nobody listed their computer games though.

Close, but I'm pretty sure San Franciso Rush is the one he's thinking of (although BAR had some similar elements). Rush is one series I wouldn't mind seeing revived, especially since, to me, Burnout is headed off in a different direction and losing the more over-the-top aspects.

Rush. That's it. Rush 2042 wasn't it? Time to check Wiki. That would indeed be a great revival.

*edit - Looks like it was San Francisco Rush 2049

I think it's interesting because with just the title, you can assume that's the game that tipped the scales in favor of a system and it's fascinating to see the different tastes we all have.

I should amend mine as Madden 01 was the PS2 game I first got as a gift with the thing, it was Dragon Warrior 7 (a PS1 game) that caused me to desire the system in the first place and the greatest Christmas gift of 2001.

Nope, it wasn't. The other non-Kart racing game I had for the 64 (that I've forgotten completely) was San Francisco Rush.
