Here, There, and Everywhere.

This is easily my most anticipated 2009 release, bar none.

I wonder if they will charge a premium for this over the normal rock band pricing?

I believe it's a stand alone disc and not just downloadable content online

Is there more news? Why make a thread for it now?

There was the blurb today that I posted over in the RB thread. pinata mentioned that this game should have its own thread, as it is not Rock Band, and GH:Aerosmith and GH:Metallica have their own threads.

I was against it, as I feel that they're going to be very closely related. I will be extremely surprised if there is not an "export" option available, unless that is something explicitly barred in their contract.

To make a long story short, pinata said he'd start the thread if I didn't, and I like to keep a tight rein on all things Harmonix-related, so here we are.

I was really hoping this would come out summer 2009. Bummed it will be another one of those titles crammed into the holiday season.

Are you talking like in an 'I just can't imagine a Beatles music game' kind of way, or an, 'I think Harmonix will drop the ball and this will never see the light of day' kind of way?

The 2nd one. I just don't see this happening. Again, I don't know anything but I am of little faith.

From the press conference, Harmonix stated that they had already been working on the deal for 17 months or so. They are unarguably the most passionate developer when it comes to music-based gaming. They know how important this deal is, both to their own futures, and to presenting The Beatles in a new way to a generation that probably isn't that familiar with them.

With all of the people on board, I just don't see this one dropping off the charts. Barring some kind of licensing issue from out of nowhere, this will get released next year.

Yeah, it's a bit silly to think that this won't come out. There is absolutely nothing pointing towards that happening.

Just wanted to throw this interview with Harmonix's co-founder and CEO that goes into how the deal came about in the last few minutes (specifically the 13:25 mark). You know, for posterity.

will anybody else be pissed if you can't export these songs into Rock Band? I understand having a seperate game, but allow me to add it to my songlist.

Severely disappointed. It'll be hard to be pissed when the opportunity to play these songs in any way is available.

I would love to have them in the main library, obviously, but I certainly won't boycott the project if not.

I'm not boycotting it either, believe me. I would just love to be able to make setlist with Beatles songs and other bands.
