This is why I'm far more concerned with my Win ratio than my K/D ratio, especially where I play S&D, Sabotage, and HQ a lot. I'd just assume win every round and have a 1 K/D than be the asshole on the losing team who's 56-5.

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - No Russian in this thread
Let me ask this... I'm a long time gamer, but I've just never really liked FPS's. I've always found them twitchy and kind of hard to play. I never even liked Halo much and haven't played more than 10 minutes of it total because it didn't appeal to me.
That said, at my friend's house a couple weeks ago, he popped in MW2, and we played a lot of the Special Ops modes, and I had a blast. I ran out and purchased the first MW, and powered through the single player mode, and really enjoyed it.
I just picked up MW2 myself and am intending to play through single player in the next few days.
I enjoyed Spec Ops so much that I really want to try the multiplayer, but it's a bit intimidating for someone that's never tried it before, so I have a list of questions I hope I don't get flamed for, since this is generally a pretty friendly crowd.
1. Is the online learning curve steep? Can a new person contribute immediately, or do I need to significantly "level up?"
2. Is there a best mode to learn on? I'm leary initially of joining team-based games because I don't want to be a hindrance.
3. Do I just jump in, or is there more I should know?
Thanks in advance for any replies.

Single player in MW2 is pretty intense.

Oh my bad, I was speaking of FFA. I have played Domination a few times and enjoy it alot.
Now where's my apology!?!

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - No Russian in this thread
I got some more stuff unlocked yesterday. I started using the grenade launcher attachment and I love it
I was just trying to unlock the shotgun attachment and I got that now, but the launcher is a lot more fun
I love it when you know someone's hiding in the window above you and you just can't get a bullet in there, just launch a grenade and boom goes the dynamite. I also got Scavenger Pro now too, pretty fun.. i never run out of ammo and it doesn't matter so much that my launcher only gets 2 grenades since I can just pick up more, or get restocked when I die
I read that there's assault rifles that can have 2 attachments.. anyone know which ones? I'd like to have one that's got the launcher plus a site or launcher plus heartbeat sensor.

You need to get the Bling perk. It will allow you to put two attachments on any primary weapon. With Bling Pro, you get to put two attachments on both your primary and secondary weapon.

You can use two attachments once you unlock the Bling perk. It will allow an undercarriage attachment and a top mounted attachment at the same time.

I hope they get those glitches fixed soon. I hadn't seen any significant ones before last night. I got stuck in a couple rounds where everyone was running around at hyperspeed and all the voices and effects sounded like they'd been fed through a chipmunk filter. Wasn't even close to being fun. That was in team deathmatch. I switched over to FFA and over the course of maybe 8 or 9 rounds, I encountered at least 3 or 4 dudes who had a glitch applying just to them. Everyone else was moving at normal speed, but they were moving 3x - 4x the normal speed of a sprint and just slashing everyone to bits. A couple more nights like that would be enough to kill my interest in this for a while.

Also, I have greatly enjoyed the gameplay since I added a class with a Stinger. That way, if a copter or harrier appears and is killing everyone, when I die I just respawn with that new class and take it out immediately. Very satisfying.
Finally, I do think there is a sharp learning curve. OK, maybe it's more that early on your weapons and Perks pretty much suck and it's a rough road playing with people totally loaded up on both. All I can say is, push through it and ramp up and it gets much better.

Exactly!
Now where's my apology!?!
This aggravates me more than anything. I hate being on teams where everyone has the FFA mentality. Yeah, I'm sure 50 kills looks great for your stats, but when you aren't helping with the actual objectives it makes for a very long, and usually losing game.

Are you sure your not seeing guys who have marathon/lightweight/commando?? That would be a fast moving long range knifing fool! Not sure about the voices, although the PS3 allows you to change the pitch of your voice over the headset I've never tried to see if it actually works in game like that.

So what's everyone's best rank on the leader boards? My only rank that is below 1,500,000 is accuracy and that's like 75,000 or something (I'm shooting at 25.11%, but I guess that's fairly decent?). I dare say I'm a dreadfully average player

It was on Terminal and I basically had to stand on the tarmac in the open just to create some distance, because cqb in the tight spaces, I couldn't draw my weapon fast enough.

Yep, that's definitely what was going on in some of the games last night. I gave people the benefit of the doubt and assumed it was just the game giving some players the same type of speed boost that everyone was getting in other glitched matches. Now that I know it's intentionally exploiting a glitch, I'll start reporting the assholes I see doing it.

I don't think so, since it was after the patch that I experienced this. Nothing more frustrating than trying to shoot a guy coming at you like a missle in Battlezone and your tank is too slow to turn and shoot. Also, I could tell since I was the last kill and the kill cam replay showed the guy holding a cannister as he knifes me.
IW really, really, really needs to fix the lobby system. Pronto. Did I say that they really need to fix the lobby?

Did any of the other CoD games have these kinds of glitches? This is ridiculous.

At least for XBL, it's taking forever to get a party into games. Or party members drop as they enter games. Or you get thrown into a glitch room - RUST with a shit ton of people.
