Thanks for the tip My Sears stated the bundles were long gone. Ended up getting 2 of them for $21 on eBay.

I finally bought a 120gb hard drive. Doing the migration from my old to the new one now. Will I need to use the DRM transfer tool or is that only if you are switching to a new console?

Thanks

But I did notice when I migrated to a new console that it did not recognize the game installs I had done prior to moving the HD. So I had to delete the installs, and reinstall to get the benefits.

Love my Harmony 720. It's fantastic and in a totally different league than my long neglected 360 remote. Spluge a little on your remote -- it's worth it.

I forget who said it, but they likened the Harmony remotes to Tivo. Once you have one you'll never go back.

I have the 880 and love it, but it still has its quirks, so it's not quite on the same level as Tivo, but it is very nice.

Harmony remotes will but you still have to buy a dongle for the PS3 to make it work.

I tried a few Harmony's before I settled on my 676 a few years back. To me, the layout seemed most similar to the Tivo remotes I was used to.

Of course things could have changed over the last few years so, YMMV.

Yeah, in their infinite wisdom, the Sony folks didn't include an IR sensor on the PS3 (it uses bluetooth only). So you either have to buy a Nyko remote with USB dongle to receive signals or you get that pricey IR-->Bluetooth converter that they sell to do the job.

Thanks all. Now that I'm getting into Blu-rays, I guess I'll end up using the PS3 more than I expected, so dongle searching I will go.

I'll start comparing the Harmonys. I have some Circuit City gift cards i better use up, so I'll likely buy it there.

I love my Harmony remote, not sure which model it is but it has been nothing short of spectacular. Best universal remote by far. Even my gf can use it with no problems due to it having the "Help" button with the instructions displayed on screen.

You can power off the system from the XMB, but not being able to power on sucks.

Also, I have my dongle in slot 4, but the PS3 reads it as port 1. So if I turn on a controller it defaults to "player 2," meaning I have to unplug the dongle to get the PS3 to recognize the controller as "player 1." So if I go from watching a movie to playing a game I have to get up and remove the dongle and then turn on the controller OR completely shut down and turn the system on with the controller.

Either way it's a pain in the fucking ass and a baffling design decision. At least Media Molecule patched Little Big Planet in regards to that issue.

Oh and the most elegant dongle is this one, although they are about $40 shipped.

If you hold the PS3 button on the controller, it gives you the option to reassign the controller.

I just hit that, assign as #1 and it is all good.

I got the Harmony 360 remote when it first came out... there was some hardware bug where the light that sensed when the remote was moved wouldn't turn off, and the batteries would get drained.

Despite the runaround with Logitech tech support, I liked the remote enough that I just went and bought a better model (with rechargeable batteries) at costco. It really is awesome, especially if you have a lot of components and a spouse that doesn't want to deal with 50 remotes.

Someone posted a few days ago about one of the Harmony remotes being cheap on eBay, but I can't find it now.
