^ Shouldn't it be like a terabyte drive for that price?

I just missed getting the 120GB on clearance at Target for $45, but someone got there before I did and grabbed it. I consider $45 expensive for 120GB, but apparently Microsoft likes to price HDDs like its still the 1990s.

Yeah, I know the pricing sucks but that's how it is. I guess for me less than $100 is "ok" and I keep missing out on those deals. Like I said, I was at Target a week before NXE was released and I saw the 120g drives for "cheap". But I didn't think I needed or wanted one. Now I can't even find them in stores for less that $150.

Same boat. I'm hoping that the increase in demand, due to the added ability of storing games on the HD, really puts some attention into the overall pricing structure, but I'm a realist, and I know that means that we don't really have a choice about it if we want to go bigger.

You have another choice if you are willing to risk upgrading it yourself.

My 360 breaks enough on it's own without me personally touching anything inside of it.

I bought a 120 Gig drive for nearly full price. I'll only have to buy another one if it breaks, this will set me up until the next Xbox console.

You don't have to open the 360 itself, only the detachable HD.

What I meant to say was....I'm an idiot.

So regardless of how it works, I'd just end up breaking everything and crying. And nobody wants to see that.

I put a 120gb drive in my original xbox with a mod chip. It was pretty easy.

Just got 4000 Live points off ebay for $28. Starting to feel like an xboxer, even though it hasn't even shown up yet. So here's how I ended up...

Xbox 360 Arcade - $130
w/DDR Revolution Universe 3
w/Sega Tennis All Stars
120GB HD - $73
Chatpad Pack - $39
w/12mo Gold Live
w/PGR4
w/headset
4000 Points - $28
512MB Memory Card - Free from Microsoft

All that for $270. Minus a $50GC, and I can probably get $50 for DDR. So all told for $170.

Feel like I ended up doing okay. (Praise be to the Amazon double discount glitch!)

I looked into this, but just not something I want to risk. I was really happy getting the 20GB one and 3 months of live for $30 and I doubt I will need more than the 13GBs or so it actually gives you. I have downloaded several videos, DLC and XBLA games and still have 10GBs free. I have my 360 networked to my PC so I can stream all my audio and video. XBLA doesn't fill it very much and I don't need to install games to the HDD. I would grab the 120GB one if it was $50, but outside of that I'm fine with the 20GB

Looks like Shagrath is the only one on this forum with 200 in Big Bumpin. That has to be up there with Battlestar. Even our resident achievement whores, discostu & flay can't claim that one.

I bought two last week. One at $46 & one at $48 using live. I also used the 10% on the $48. Anyway after your post I saw one for $42 BIN so I thought I'd nab that one as well, so I logged into live.com headed for ebay and some asshat put a bid on it. This was all inside a minute. Oh well, saved me some money.
