Such a minor victory considering everyone believes it is overtiered, but I gold-starred Ramblin' Man today on guitar. I mention it because I can honestly say it is the first time it has sincerely bothered me not to have them tracked in-game. I did it in a Make-Your-Own, and not in the venue as a stand-alone. And holding any combo through the verses is a complete crap-shoot for me, so I'm not sure when I can pull it off again.

I saw Teasdale mention elsewhere recently that they are definitely working on tracking, but that it's not a quick fix.

I'm in for all the Orbison as well as Lenny Kravitz's only good song and maybe a Steve Miller song or two.

thelwig14 01-03-09 05:24 PM

I guess I would say I am a Kravitz fan, but judging by the ones they chose, Harmonix isn't...

At least his best track is coming.

I am curious to see what versions all the Orbison songs are...

Finished the Endless Setlist 2 on medium guitar today, got that achievement and the bladder of steel one too. Took 6 + hours, but it was worth it.

Congrats!

I got Bladder of Steel earlier this week by going through a second time. Had a bit of a scare when my buddy's 360 hiccuped during oddly enough, Panic Attack (83 or 84). The charts stopped scrolling, but the music was still playing and our crowd meter dipped dangerously low! Luckily it corrected itself, but it was definitely a scary occurrence.

My RB2 wireless guitar does not register when I down strum unless I really push down on it hard. And even then it does not pick up all the notes. Up-strumming appears to work fine and is how I remember the RB1 guitar working. I assume I should RMA it while I still can? Anyone else have any strum bar issues with the RB2 guitar?

Thanks

shumway 01-04-09 12:21 PM

That is the same issue I had with 2 RB1 guitars. I would definitely RMA while you still can.

What the hell, we can't have this thread falling back to the second page! Surely there must be something worthy of a discussion.

I'm looking forward to checking out some of the Roy Orbison tracks, but since I really only play drums, I doubt many of them are going to be too interesting.

Ugh. My system red-ringed today, so I sent it off. This evening, my wife comes home with a late Christmas gift...the triple cymbal pack. :(

I was really looking forward to the Orbison pack, but hopefully it comes back in time for Steve Miller.

Am I just blind or is the Roy Orbison pack not on the Marketplace... there is even an ad for it but when I click through, nothing.

You aren't blind. Npeaen also mentioned this and the forums are confirming it. I didn't see any word from HMX on it from Microsoft or otherwise.

Kinda funny in light of the artist in question

Two misconceptions about Orbison's appearance continue to surface: that he was an albino, and that he wore his trademark dark glasses because he was blind or nearly so. Neither is correct, though his poor vision required him to wear thick corrective lenses. From childhood he suffered from a combination of hyperopia, severe astigmatism, anisometropia, and strabismus.Orbison's trademark sunglasses were a fashion statement arising from an incident early in his career. Orbison had left his regular glasses in an airplane. Due to go onstage in a few minutes and unable to see without corrective lenses, his only other pair of glasses were dark prescription sunglasses. "I had to see to get onstage", so he wore the glasses throughout his tour of England with the Beatles in 1963, and he continued the practice for the remainder of his professional career. "I'll just do this and look cool." However, Orbison once said in an interview that he wore his glasses on a plane because the sun was bright and forgot he was wearing them, especially while on stage. Shortly after he finished performing, he looked in the mirror and noticed he had not taken his glasses off, so he laughed about it and continued to wear them for the rest of his career.

You Got It and Mean Woman Blues are now up. The other 4 and the pack are still MIA.

Stop pre-filling my titles. >:(

I'm curious to see what the tiering is for the Orbison songs, especially on drums.

I added the info the DLC post. One song is tier four, the rest is lower.

Nice! I think I'll wait for the YouTubes to pop up before I decide which tracks to get.

In for Pretty Woman regardless...and probably You Got It (love the song, but the charting could be boring).

If Kravitz is true, very cool. I wouldn't call myself a "fan" or anything, but Are You Gonna Go My Way is a day one download for sure...and one less reason to ever buy GH:WT.

Oh, well that's weird. The last time PSN took a break, when they came back they released the current week's stuff and the stuff we had missed. I wonder why they're not releasing last week's (classic rock) and this week's (Orbison) DLC all at once so we're caught up.

I think I'm going to get the whole pack now that I've watched the videos, and realized I actually know most of the songs.

The Orbison songs are pretty easy, but the diversity is good. I like having all different genres available to choose from.

Try adding &fmt=22 to the end of some of those tracks (the drum ones) quite a difference in sound/visual quabity.

Interesting tidbit, although you always need to put expectations in check any time a "mega announcement" is teased:

Sucks the guy is intentionally withholding the "when" of this event. Why say anything at all at this point? Cock-tease for hits is all.
