I can't pass Green Grass and High Tide on medium drums. I get to about 65% and then just suck it and fail.
This is the only song I can't do so far. Everything else up to this point i have 5 starred on the first try. Any suggestion on this song, other than the obvious keep trying until you pass it. |
Focus on the red and yellow pads only.

any tips for a beginning drummer? I'm doing pretty well on drums on easy right now. I think I'n averaging 4 stars for the most part maybe a 3 here and there as the tour is starting to get tougher. I want to make the jump to medium as easy isn't as challenging anymore.

The funny thing is that once you finish the rest of the game, you'll replay that song and breeze through it without any problems at all. I mean, assuming you go through the same thing I did... :) |

Its hard to describe, but I started to think about that part differently. Instead of constant bass and constant yellow. I thought of it in 2 pieces. yellow/bass then yellow/red/bass (or whatever it actually is). again, hard to describe. |

Don't trigger any of your star power (or overdrive or whatever Rock Band calls it) until you actually need it in that long, long stretch. You'll squeak by after a couple of tries.

Is that #1 or 2? I figured I might as well get #2. Won't the drum set and wireless guitar end up being the same as buying the $170 bundle at Deepdiscount?

You do not need to spend $200 because you want to sing five country songs. Buy Rock Band for the songs, get some DLC, use the mic you already have.

You'd love it down here, Bus.
Down where? Is "OK" the new abbreviation for Oaxaca or did I miss something. |
Won't be long, I reckon.

Green Grass & High Tide on Medium drums? Get a partner to play the bass pedal. Seriously. Like the others said you may get it eventually but it's a long ass song to fail out on at 80% every time. Why torture yourself? Get a little help.

I know it might be wishing for too much, but I sincerely hope that Deb will take our advice and spend $30 instead of $200. It would be a Christmas miracle!
I figure we have about 3 more weeks of her posting until she takes her yearly six month sabbatical from this forum. :) |

I can't do it all by myself! |

When I hit the GGaHT road block on Med drums, I just went ahead and jumped to Hard. Once I hit the first big bump in the road there, I went back to Medium and passed it immediately. |

I can't do it all by myself! Anyway, since HMX posted next week's songs so early, let's speculate about what we'll be getting for the last two weeks of December. I bet we'll get either SRV or Jane's Addiction one of those weeks and maybe a surprise or two. |

Well I do want the drum and wireless guitar. But I figure I can get it in pieces. I'd probably want to get RB 1 and 2 since for $5 you can export 55/58 songs of #1 into #2, so I guess I can start with #1 since I already have the mic (although I with the mic was wireless). I do have a wired 360 guitar that I can use for now until I find a killer deal on the wireless RB2 one, and then just pick up the drum set once a deal comes out.
|
If you're going to ultimately go to RB2 anyway, do not buy RB1 just to export. If you want it as a game (which is pointless) that's your prerogative. Just rent/borrow it if you just want the 55 songs exported.

Hey, Rock Band players. My wife and I own GHIII for the Wii and we're thinking about picking up either Rock Band 2 for the Wii (not out until 2009) or GH: World Tour for Christmas. However, there's the whole $99 Rock Band special edition deal.
Is it worth us getting the $99 Rock Band original then getting the Rock Band 2 disc later? Are the instruments in RB2 that much better? |
Hhhmm interesting idea! I definitely do not want it as a game because I want to have as little clutter as possible, so I love series where the earlier games can be exported into later ones.
Is the 20 free song code still being printed on the RB2 manuals? So if I buy a new one from anywhere that WILL have the code? |
Huh. Looks like my question got answered while I was posting...

So the game is $55. The drums are $70. The guitar is $60 or so. That's $185 right there. The whole thing (and with a spare mic to boot) is $170 at DeepDiscount. Which is why I'm hesitant to go piecemeal on this. |

Your GH3 guitars will work with all GH titles and RB2 (not RB1). RB1/2 instruments don't appear to work with GH titles. So your $99 would just be for the game + drums + mic. Drums seem mutually exclusive so you'll need both sets, it seems. |
