So the game is $55. The drums are $70. The guitar is $60 or so. That's $185 right there. The whole thing (and with a spare mic to boot) is $170 at DeepDiscount. Which is why I'm hesitant to go piecemeal on this.

SRP goes like this:

RB2 = $60
RB2 Drums = $90
RB2 Guitar = $60
RB2 Microphone = $30

Of course, the mic is pretty much a bonus since you can use your headset and soon to be wireless Lips microphone. If you don't mind wires, you can get the Rock Band 1 drums for $50. It should be noted that there are people on this forum that ordered the wireless drums over two months ago from them and still haven't received them, so I wouldn't really go by the $70 price they are charging. They could put them up for $20 but wouldn't be accurate since they aren't shipping any out.

If you want the new drums & new guitar, not to mention the game, your best bet is the bundle.

GatorDeb 12-09-08 04:38 PM

I hear the RB 2 drums are much better.

So you WILL be able to use the Lips mics in the future? Because I have them but had read that they were not compatible. It'd be great to go all-wireless.

RB2 drums ARE much better.

GatorDeb, the only way to play this game is with the Ion Drums. You're doing yourself a disservice if you buy the standard ones.

Also, look into the Logitech guitar that's coming out.

Is that the one with the real strings?

UncleGramps 12-09-08 05:26 PM

You should probably get new speakers too, and some leather pants for that true rockstar feel.

xmiyux 12-09-08 05:35 PM

Don't forget the stage kit! Then a case of extra fog juice.

UncleGramps 12-09-08 05:39 PM

It's really not a bad investment, assuming of course that you don't just lose interest in it after a week or two. But that's highly unlikely. :sarcasm:

I honestly think this is the closest i have ever been to actually falling out of my chair due to laughter. I have never seen that URL before let alone that it is an actual link that does something.

#1 would have been hilarious if the search results answered the question. There's no mention whether it's permanent and if not, when it ends. If you buy it online there's no way to check that there's a sticker that says that it comes with 20 free songs.

#2 would have been hilarious too if it hadn't been confirmed at the beginning that the microphone -didn't- work with RB2. I don't Google every week whether things that I own now work with each other.

You want to hear something more hilarious? Guess who posted in Other a few hours ago about that site.

Yet you fail to catch the irony.

you asked questions that can easily be found with searches. Only hours before you posted a link for people to use when people post annoying as fuck questions that can be found with searches.

xmiyux 12-09-08 06:07 PM

And the Lips patch was mentioned in either this very thread or the general music game thread.

I know this because i even knew a patch was coming and i really don't care about Lips at all so i would certainly not have been looking up info on the game.

xmiyux 12-09-08 06:57 PM

I actually have a B1G1 coupon for better judgment. PM me if you want me to mail you the pdf.

The standard 360 headset doesn't work very well as a mic. The one or two times I've tried to use it, it doesn't seem to have the fidelity to sing at expert and pick up everything. If you're singing on Medium or something, then it should be sufficient.

The Lips mics (when patched) should be pretty awesome! I'm getting the game for XMas, so I hope they're patched around then, or shortly after.

Liver&Onions 12-09-08 07:03 PM

Against my better judgment I went walking out that door,
I smiled at one person and I nodded to three more,
A man asked me for a dollar I asked him what it's for
He said I have seen them, I said OK it's yours.

In today's WalMart ad, AC/DC Rock Band Track Pack sees a price drop to 29.92, 19.92 for PS2. That's a little more like it. Available online as well, with free ship-to-store.

True. The headset works perfect on Medium as I went through a bulk of the World Tour in RB1 playing guitar at the same time. You are a pretty hardcore singer though. I'd like to know if anyone else had any success at higher levels with it.
