My own, the ones that come with it are a joke. I'm just not used to having cymbals that close to other drums.

So it's okay to use real drum sticks on the set then?

I picked this up this weekend - the bundle with the guitar. At first everything was fine, but after about 4 hours, the green button started "sticking". If you press it towards the bottom of the button, its like it catches on something and won't go down all the way unless you press fairly hard. Which means I miss tons of green notes when you have to change buttons quickly.
Looking online, it appears I have to return the whole bundle to the store? For the original rock band they sent me a prepaid return label to just ship my guitar back for a replacement (tilting wouldn't activate star power). But doesn't seem like they do that for this game.

I know when I looked into replacing my GH3 controller it looked like a nightmare. I would have to send them the guitar at my cost, and it would be a 3-4 week turnaround. Their return policy then seemed like a black hole compared to the stuff EA/Harmonix was doing. Looks like maybe they haven't yet come around? It is odd though that they're wanting you to do returns at the place of purchase. Seems like that would be tiresome for the business at some point.

The repair and RMA policy is not customer friendly. This could be for two reasons.

That RedOctane just doesnt care. Which may seem like the case at the moment but I seriously doubt that thay just dont give a darn about their customers.

Or that right now they do not have the stock to replace parts with a quick turnaround, hence they require you to foot the shipping bill and there is a 3-4 week delay. The reason I suspect this is when I contacted them about when they will be offering drum and guitar controllers they had no idea when they would be available.

So either they are lying and are hiding warehouses of available stock and requiring their customers to fork over cash and wait for 3-4 weeks like some evil empire, or they are telling the truth and they just do not have the available resources and stock to handle a high volume of returns and repairs at the moment.

Which would seem pretty short-sighted and ill-prepared on the part of Red Octane and Activision. As this was the same type of scenario that affected GH3, I'm sure that it may be more a combo of the two and not just the latter.

I've been using some plastic tipped Vic Firth sticks without any problems. I also think the ones that came with the set are too light weight.

Download the tuning tool, get the midi-to-usb adapter and crank your sensitivity all the way up. I bet it'll work fine then.

Probably some short-sightedness for sure or pride in thinking they were going to get it right the first time out.

But businesses keep inventory low to keep costs down and only manufacture just what they need at any given moment. They probably ran out of initial RMA stock and are waiting for more before changing any RMA policies.

It would be foolish to change the policy and relax the fees and such to have everyone sending in their stuff and them not be able to fulfill the requests.

I mean the game has only been out for 9 days.

The concept of the commercial is great. But if they were gonna go this way why didn't they pick that song to actually be IN the game? I wonder how many people will go out and buy the game because they think that song is in it.

That was my thoughts exactly. It's a music game and you choose to use a popular song that isn't even featured in the goddamn thing. Brilliant.
