I just got a new LG 47 inch 1080p tv for this game.

Only paid $400, too

They were developed by two different companies so time spent isn't an issue, resources on the other hand...

... and actually everyone should listen to the latest Major Nelson podcast. He interviews a couple of guys about the game. One from each side of development. I'm very anti multiplayer in Bioshock, but it actually sounds rather interesting, not the modes per se, but the level design and story unlockables.

Didn't see this posted in the last page: List of (almost) every plasmid and tonic in the game.

So you have to play multiplayer to unlike single player story points? Boo to that, unless I'm misreading your post.

No, no. Think along the lines of Audio Diaries like the first game. It's been a few days since I listened but I think it is basically, single player is a direct sequel to Bioshock, but the multiplayer is more of a prequel in terms of level design. So the things you unlock just give you a deeper story into pre-Bioshock events/characters/etc. The things you unlock have no direct impact on Bioshock 2, but unlocking them gives you the FULL Bioshock experience.

or something like that. Major Nelson marks the times on his interviews so if you want to just listen to the Bioshock portion, he makes it easy to do.

Didn’t know if this has been mentioned, but Walmart has 20% bing cashback right now. And the regular edition of Bioshock 2 comes with a $10 gift card. So $38 for the regular edition after you figure in the giftcard and $79 for the LE.

What's the magic search word for Bing? It's been 4% for Wal-Mart for me all day.

Try "Sony"

That's what worked for me

Re: Bioshock 2: Out in a week

Will hold off until more reviews are posted, but if the trend of great scores continues I will be picking it up. Too bad I have yet to finish the first one, so it may be smarter to try to finish the first and get Bioshock 2 at a discounted price.

Anyone recall that BestBuy.com B1G1 50% off deal back in the fall? It was glitched and allowed pre-orders, and a week later [presumably] all those were canceled. Well I went with Bioshock 2 and Split Second, both 2010 games and my order rode.

I just got my shipping notice. Yea!

Re: Bioshock 2: Out in a week

I'm really looking forward to this, but I'm going to miss the 'oh shit' sensation that you got by accidentally pissing off a Big Daddy in the first one. That game did a hell of a job of making you feel vulnerable. I can't imagine them recapturing those moments with you in the suit.

Yeah, it's going to be hard to match that 'awe' factor in the second, especially the atmosphere. I'm a little disappointed that they didn't change the setting and are just going with 'a separate section of the city' that you didn't see in the first game.

There was a little of that in the first game IIRC

I heard the first time you fight a big sister, reminds you of the first time you fight a big daddy...

So, easy as pie on normal mode and rage/sob-inducing on hard mode?

I didn't realize until after I finished the game that if you left them alone they would not attack. I attacked everyone of them on sight...

Wow, just a 9.1? I thought it'd be higher. Still, anything 9 and above is great.

Me too. I'm considering canceling my pre-order, although they may have scored it low just to generate traffic to their site.

I don't play anything that gets less than a 9.6. Cancelling my pre-order for this piece of shit.
