There's no episodic DLC released or planned. I think they are already working on a sequel.

I finally started this game the other day, it's been a long time since I've been on edge while playing a game. Wow...

Question, I downloaded the "Scorpion Suit" when it was released but how can I know I'm using it? Is it automatic?

You have to equip it at the store in the game

I'm jealous. I wish I had this game to play for the first time again :( This was one of my favorite games of the platform, along with Bioshock and Assassin's Creed.

I'm just starting Dead Space, and thus far...very impressed.

I'm loving the atmosphere, and I've already jumped once or twice, as it's very immersive. I'm very impressed with how they handled menus and cut scenes in-game as well. This is a super-polished game that doesn't seem to have gotten the recognition it deserves...or maybe it falls apart later.

My girlfriend can't watch it though, so that's a downside.

Re: Dead Space

No worries about it falling apart. It's solid play straight through til the end!

Re: Dead Space

My only complaint was that it requires multiple play throughs to get all of the weapons and suits upgraded. Otherwise the game is rock solid.

Re: Dead Space

That's good to hear. Despite the different setting, the game feels to me like the next evolution from Resident Evil 4 in terms of gameplay and storytelling. That is a huge compliment from me, as I loved RE4.

As I recall, you couldn't quite upgrade everything in RE4 either. You just had to pick your weapons wisely and upgrade the ones you liked most.

I'm mostly taken aback by the level of polish in this game...everything from the graphics to the controls...and especially the lack of onscreen menus. The energy levels on the back of the suit = brilliant.

One of the best games released that year.

There's only one part that I hated, it takes you out of the game, since I was really bad with the controls.

Re: Dead Space

i got to a point where I have zero choice but to backtrack to buy some ammo to take down a big ass monster. I can't do it without that, and it pissed me off and I shelved the game.

i have had it since Christmas and still haven't finished it. It is a pretty good game, but I only play it little bits of time for some reason.

I got to a point where I needed to freeze some monsters and run to another point, and since I hadn't upgraded my freezer, I couldn't get to where I needed to be before the monsters became unfrozen. That's the point at which I gave it up. I'll probably pop it back in at some point and give it another try -- it was definitely a fun game.

Run part way and then refreeze them? Refill your stasis with a stasis pack, if necessary.

This game was the biggest surprise for me last year. One of the best released last year. Definitely a no brainer for $30.

God I loved this game.

I'm on level 8 or 9 right now and this game is totally freaking me out. I only play it during the day  I kinda wish I had studied the upgrade system a bit more early on because clearly in some cases you can upgrade using better and more efficient paths.

I think Capcom should seriously study Dead Space....

It's like I said when talking about RE5....Resident Evil did get an overhaul and control change, unfortunately for Capcom it was called Dead Space.

What's funny is I went pretty much half way thru the game not realizing I could use stasis on the creatures. Once i figured that out, the game becase less frustrating, especially when I was low on ammo at different points.

I just wasn't paying enough attention in the beginning I guess.

Check out the BD or DVD of the animated prequel after you finish this game. It's actually pretty well done but far more interesting after you finish the game I would think.

I got the game brand new for $10 around Thanksgiving and am FINALLY getting around ot playing it.

Holy Shit what an amazing game!! Im playing it around midnight everynight and it freaks the shit out of me. Im only in the first chapter after moving the tranny. The graphics here are amzing and the game feels smart. Like at a save station a pop up that says "Press x to save' doesnt appear. Nice!

Freakiest moment: Walking down a hall and noticing my shadow. Than a creature shadow with those flailing arms moving passes right by so I turn real quick and nothing was there.... That was SOO SWEET!

Re: Dead Space

Yeah, great game. Some people found it repetitive after some chapters but for me the whole game was a really exciting experience.

Oh and the end is really great! It doesn't disappoints!

I agree with Raul, this was one of my favorite games. I played through it 5 times I believe and never really got sick of it, I just wished it kept going & going.
