Brand new game. No Master Chief.

I'm not a big Halo fan but it looks like this could be pretty good. Hopefully it will be a grittier game like it was rumored. Weird calling it Halo 3: anything though. Seems like they would want a new title.

I loved the Halo games...ALL THREE....so this is big news.

I just hope it is not a 2-3 hour game. Halo 3 was short enough, lets not get carried away...

Expansion or new game? Did they specifically say? Do the achievements that were just tagged to our Halo 3 profile belong to this game? Also, if it doesn't come out until next fall, the recent achievements seem a bit premature.

At any rate, I've loved all three games so this is a no brainer. I just hope they don't turn it into Ghost Recon. And where are some new Halo 3 MP maps?

I've never been a huge Halo fan (though I've played thru all 3) but this looks fantastic!

Looks like it might be Rainbow Six with a Halo skin.

The new achievements are not for this game. Many are related to the new Mythic map pack being released sometime soon. I believe they are all multiplayer achievements.


This game is, i believe, a standalone single player disc game. Presumably it will have 1000 points on its own.

I hate, well I'm really not into that, recon/tactical shooters. If this is going to be like R6V or that kinda games I'm not interested.

But yeah, my main reason would be no Master Chief.

If so then I'm in like Friggin' Flynn. My favorite parts of the Halo series have always been the when MC was fighting with the Marines.

Looks cool, but considering it's a year away who knows what it's going to eventually look like (assuming it even comes out).

I'm down with fighting with marines, I just don't want a slow tactical approach where I have to control my squad. Rainbow Six was fun, but Halo is about running and gunning. Give me some moderately intelligent NPCs that I don't have to babysit.

I'm intrigued. I'll wait to hear more. Especially how long the campaign is, and the cost

I'm in. I loved the CO-OP experience in Halo 3 so i bet this one will be just as good if not better.

It looks like it should be called Halo: Dark. I'm a bit confused about it, but I've played games that looked worse...I'm in.

This is a no-brainer on so many levels. Great news.

It cracks me up that people are like "I won't buy it without Master Chief OMG what will we do oh noes!!!". Give me a break. Who really cares? You're still going to control a character, it's still Halo, it's still the same type of game, etc.

And before anyone even tries to make the comparison, no, it's NOT like getting a Mario game without Mario, considering that character has unique abilities. Anything that Master Chief has can easily be used by a Marine or whatever.

Is it even confirmed that MC ISN'T in the game?

What the fuck? That'd be more than a two year gap between 3 and 4 - the same as between Infinity Ward's CoD 2 & 4 (which included building a new engine for CoD4). What's so crazy about this line of thought?
