This thought crossed my mind, but it seems silly honestly. That 3-pack alone could easily fetch a premium over the usual 440 price and they'd be foolish to give it away.

So is this going to be called Nirvana Pack 01 or Nevermind 01?

How about "Smells Like an Almost Full Album 01"

In light of how Harmonix has been doing completed/full album DLC, a seperate download of the big missing 3 at a later date wouldn't really make much sense. I'm personally hoping for them to be included in the "yet-to-be-announced" free tracks. It'd be a pretty huge deal for them to do. (Of course they could just be expermenting with different ways to package stuff too, so who the hell knows.)

What I do know is that this is by far some of the best DLC for me since the game released. I'm giddy!

The only reasons I can think of is that they are exclusive to some other music gaming franchise, or they are asking a premium that HMX is unwilling to pay.

They have already stated that the 20 free songs are going to be by "newer" artists that are not featured on the RB2 disc.

I'm not sure if these three are a masters issue, or if we'll see another pack of them sometime down the road, or released as singles over a couple of weeks.

But, do you not find it odd that they have specifically omitted the 3 main tracks off the album and failed to mention that they consist of 7/12 of the album? Or 70% of what was missing when you consider the retail disc tracks.

It isn't like HMX to venture into an album release like this.

The "Boston Pack" came close when it was 6/7 of the remaining tracks off their "Boston" album, but that name could go either way

The conspiracy theorist side of me keeps thinking Courtney Love has a hand in this.

880 for these 7 and if we assume that the other three will come eventually at 440, how does 1320 sit with everyone for Nevermind? I think that's $16.50, if my math holds, for 10 tracks. Seems on par with the other releases, so this doesn't feel like a cash grab unless the other pack comes in at some premium, which seems so unlikely.

The (admittedly small) optimist side of me likes to think they wanted this in 3 flavors:
1) full album
2) 3-pack
3) singles

That approach hasn't been done before and maybe it's not something they could manage in one week. Maybe they're just holding the 3 back for the holidays or a week for GH.

Then again, maybe it is a licensing issue for the more popular tracks

And Harmonix has never gone back on their word or changed their DLC plans before...

Seriously, though, I wouldn't assume anything about the 20 free songs based on past HMX comments. I don't think their plans are ever set in stone, and they will probably be juggling tracks in and out of that 20 pack right up until the announcement.

You may want to ask someone else, but I'd pay double. So.....WORKS FOR ME!

That would be a bargain for such a fantastic album, IMO.

I'm in for the whole album, I mean package.
I'll pay whatever they want too.

Truth.

Actually...the more I think about it, as much as I would love the complete album, I would certainly pick a "Breed/Lounge Act/On A Plain/Stay Away" pack over the "Overplayed Singles" pack. So I'm happy either way it goes.

oh...and once again.....

I fall under the latter. The only songs I knew from that album were In Bloom and smells, so... I dunno... pass?

So when the hell are the 20 free songs being announced? I figured that was a shoo-in for today.

Well...we're still a week away from GH:WT. Maybe next week? Seems like they'd want to get it out there sometime before their launch next Sunday.

People on the RB forums have figured out when the missing three are coming.

Spoiler:
RB3, RB4, and RB5

On a side note, the RB forums make me want to become a mass murderer.

Yes, there is hardly any poster there with a brain in their head.

I am a longtime Nirvana diehard so these are must buys, but like you, the lack of Teen Spirit and Come As You Are really have me scratching my head...I'd kill for those 2 songs...especially come as you are. Gotta stock up on some points.
