Did you vote? There were some extremely tough matchups in there.

I voted Braid for everything I could, so it's probably almost like I didn't vote.

Ugh, it's kind of angering to see SF2 HD win so many categories.

I'm not sure why.

Oh that's right, because Bionic Commando and Geometry Wars 2 came out this year.

Castle Crashers? Wasn't that game broken from release day until recently? Ignoring the quality of the game, why in the hell would people want to reward a developer for that?

I played the game a bunch and never had any problems. I know some folks did, but I'm not sure how wide spread the issues were. Even the ones I knew that had the problems still kept playing the game and loved it though, so I guess that's saying something.

Castle Crashers was one of my favorite games of last year, so it's well deserved to me. There were some online multiplayer issues, but the gameplay outweighed them as far as i'm concerned.

Re: XBLA Thread Part thrizzee (3)

I don't have much problems with those choices. I voted for Castle Crashes as GOTY as well. I like the Family vote for Keflings -- I really like that game and enjoy playing it with my daughter. Don't actually agree with SSFIIHD for graphics, they weren't that great and I think Bionic Commando was a better remake with better graphics. Still I can live with that one.

My main problem is honoring Portal. Not that it's not great, but it's the same game I bought in Orange Box in Oct 2007. They did almost nothing to change it from that release and to award it best single player XBLA game of 2008 is laughable, IMO.

Here's pulling for Peggle in 09!

Last night I decided I would unlock the Peggle demo. It was 9:00 when I did that. I'm stupid.

I did that last week - 5 hours never went by so fast before.

On a side note - I'm in the top 1000 for best shots though

Very excited about Scrabble .. I always felt like it was a game that would be a lot of fun to play on XBLA ... Is it for sale now?

It's part of Hasbro Family Game Night. The frond-end "game" is free, but to actually play the games is 800 points each. Scrabble's pretty fun, but there's no computer AI to play against, which is pretty disappointing.

Treid the Uno Rush demo this morning. I sort of liked it. It's pretty quick paced, and occasionally frustrating because you don't have time to sort the cards right before your turn comes up again. I liked it, but not sure it's worth spending 800 points on if I already have Uno. Will see what the sell-through rate looks like tomorrow before I commit. If there's little online community, it really won't be worth it.

I got it Saturday night. Didn't go to bed until 4 am. That game is such a time vampire.

It is, unless you own a PS3. PixlJunk Monsters is about 1000X better.

Has anybody done the 750,000 challenge yet on Peggle? I think the best I've ever done on one level is around 540,000.

Haven't gotten to those yet. I just cleared out all of the 400,000 challenges and a couple of those were pretty damn hard. I probably played one in particular 100 times (or at least it felt like that many).

Doing the clear completely stages now. The first several were pretty easy but the next batch seem a little more difficult.

I thought the 750,000 or bigger challenges were spread over a few boards and not just one board???

I think its the final challenge. You get to choose the level but its 750,000 points. The highest scores seem to be from 11-5 using the rabbit. I guess you just gotta get lucky and get the triple score.

The one for every peg on every level is beyond impossible. Nobody will ever nail that one. There's one guy on 360voice.com has a gamerscore of 170, but nobody's getting that final 30. Who would have thought that a game as easy as Peggle would have the hardest achievement ever?

I don't think it is impossible but you may have to play the damn game 50,000 times.

My question is how do you keep up with the ones you have already cleared completely so you know not to work on them?

Once you complete a challenge, a big Master logo pops up and that logo is marked over the challenge you just completed.

Re: XBLA Thread Part thrizzee (3)

Looks like Uno Rush is a victim of the 400pt "real time tax" that they charged for that tank game from a few weeks ago.

Seriously, this could have just been a downloadable mod for the existing game.

Oi, Uno Rush is crazy good.

We played for over two hours yesterday and barely scratched more than the standard game mode.

Looks like PQ: Galactrix will be 1600pts. I know three people who loved the original who said they won't even bother with the new one now. It doesn't help a few advance reviews haven't been too kind either.
