PlayStation Plus: Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time Free for Members

Everyone’s favorite raccoon thief is back in Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time. Fans of the original series can get reacquainted with the gang — Carmelita, Bentley and Murray. Since burglary is usually a stealth-oriented affair you can choose to stick to rooftops and shadows, or if you’re feeling a bit more aggressive you can take a more head-on approach with your trusty cane. Bonus — Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time is a cross-buy title, so Plus members will get both the PS3 and Vita versions.

We’ve got a bundle of new discounts as well, including a variety of sports titles and our E3 sale, which features titles that have appeared at past conferences.

I think you can get it (PS4 ACIV) for very cheap this week at Target using a Best Buy price match, the $15 off $39.99 with $1 pre-order Target deal and some sort of coupon. Altogether people are getting the game under $20 this week

Grab some of your friends and explore a 2D sandbox world where you can gather materials to craft, build whatever you desire and fight monsters like harpies and demon eyes. Once you’ve gotten used to the regular monsters, there are several bosses you can work toward defeating like King Slime. Of course you should be relatively prepared for these encounters, so create some decent gear and weapons before you try to take them down.

Here is a stupid question. I downloaded the free games from the PSN store onto my PS3. (NBA2K14, Sly Cooper, etc..) I am thinking of trading in my PS3 at gamestop for a PS4. Can I download those same games onto the PS4 and continue my saved games/files or do I need to start all over. Are those games compatible to the PS4?

A few games are cross-buy and/or cross save, but generally, no, they are not compatible.

You can't play any PS3 games on a PS4. Some of the games that are available on both systems are cross-buy, meaning you buy one and you get both, but I don't believe that any of those have been given away on PS+ yet.

So are those playstation plus free games on the PSN network available for the PS4 or only for the PS3?

There are free PS4 games on PS+, but none of the same ones that are available for PS3.

Current free PS4 games are PixelJunk Shooter Ultimate and Trine 2. There's been more, but those are the only ones available right now. If you've been a PS+ member for some time, you could've been locking in all the free games without a PS4 by using the PSN store web interface.

Doh. I wish I had found out sooner. Oh well, I'll stock up from now on till I actually have a ps4.

Note that Mutant Mudds is also on PS3. You might have to lock in your Vita license online before downloading on PS3, but it's definitely Cross Buy (just downloaded it on PS3).

It's also a really solid little platformer.

Store update is up now. Grabbed TowerFall Ascension, STRIDER, Vessel, Dead Space 3, Muramasa, Doki Doki Universe and War Thunder Free Starter Pack. Total price $0.00. Not bad.

I tried it briefly on my Vita yesterday and totally hated it. Retro-style platformers aren't my thing I guess. I did think the foreground/background thing was sort of cool, but having items in the foreground obscure my character in the background totally blew. In any case, free is free. Glad you enjoy it.

Is there an easy way to sort your purchases? Like when (if) I eventually grab a Vita, will I be able to just download all of the free Vita games I bought through the store? Or will I have to go back page through page?

Nope, they never made your download list in any way sortable (besides Games/ TV ) though in the past they promised that was coming -- guess they lied. I'm now at 1922 items under "Games". Lord help me if I ever needed to actually re-download everything.

It might actually be easier to scroll through all the available Vita games to see which ones you already own.

Anybody play Steamworld Dig? Any good?

Every review I've seen has been very positive. I'm giving it some serious thought at $5, even if I'm pretty sure it will be free at some point.

The good news about Doki Doki Universe is that it's cute, colorful, triple Cross-Buy and free. The bad new is that I have absolutely no idea how to play it. None. Seriously, a little less conversation among the characters and a little more hand-holding instructions would have gone a long way with this game. WTF?

Towerfall Ascension doesn't really work as a single player game, but I bet it's a blast with local competitive multiplayer.

I've played a little Steamworld Dig and am enjoying it, I've spent much more on much much worse.

I was a little disappointed to find out that everywhere but North America apparently got an upgrade discount on the PS4 version of Guacamelee. It was easily one of my favorite games from last year, but there's no way I'm spending almost $15 more for a few new areas, especially when pretty much everywhere else gets an upgrade discount.

Weird. Drinkbox said in their blog post that they were working on giving a discount on the PS4 version of Guacamelee for those who previously bought the game. Wonder why it didn't happen. I stopped caring when it came out for free on Xbox One.

It really it doesn't seem any different from the PS3 version - looks and plays almost identical except you now can purchase costumes that can change your abilities a little bit.
