For PsPlus, If i sign up on ps3 will it be useable on PS4?

XavierMike 01-30-14 04:21 PM

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

Yes, Vita as well. You should "buy" the PS4 games on the web store. Then you will have them ready to download when you upgrade even if they are no longer free.

While load times suck, I sort of forgot the one cool thing about ModNation Racers Vita -- You can knock out an original track to race on in like minutes.

Unlike Lives free games these Plus games expire after a while, so sony probably doesn't have to fork up too much money to release them free for a while

They come down from the free library, but once you've "purchased" them for free, you can keep them and even re-download them for free as long as you're still a member.

And if your membership ever expires you do lose access to those games but you can get them back by reactivating your membership. What Sony pays developers for those games is one of gaming's greatest mysteries

Even if it says license has expired?

The license expires when your PS+ membership expires. If you extend it or re-enroll after it has expired, the licenses are good again.

That's not right.

I mean, that's not how it's suppose to work. As long as you have Plus the games should work.

You might have to download it again, I noticed on my Vita games have expirations of when my account was due to expire when I downloaded it, so some have one date and some I downloaded after I extended by subscription have a later date.

When does Plus update? The video preview didn't indicate a date so i figured it was today. But on the PS Store it's not listing the games.

Every Tuesday (late afternoon/evening). And all the games won't be available on the first Tuesday. They spread them out throughout the month.

I wonder how many times this question has been asked and answered in this thread.

PlayStation Plus: Outlast and Metro: Last Light Free for Members

+ Posted by Kristine Steimer // Sr. Community Specialist

We’re kicking off February with a little something for everyone, regardless of what PlayStation console(s) you own. PS4 owners can give themselves a good scare by nabbing Outlast, a survival horror game where you’ll play as a freelance journalist investigating a psychiatric hospital. Not really a job I’d take, but hey, times are tough. There’s no fighting back in Outlast, you can climb or hide, and that’s it, so proceed with caution. If you’re a PS3 owner, you’ll be able to explore post-apocalyptic Russia in Metro: Last Light. A first-person shooter with the option to be stealthy, your decisions throughout the game will impact the story’s outcome. Finally, our PS Vita Play sale also continues this week with Dustforce, which you can grab for $7.99.

You can download Outlast and Metro: Last Light after PlayStation Store updates tomorrow.

Free for PS Plus members

Hell is an experiment you can’t survive in Outlast, a first-person survival horror game developed by veterans of some of the biggest game franchises in history. As investigative journalist Miles Upshur, explore Mount Massive Asylum and try to survive long enough to discover its terrible secret… if you dare.

Free for PS Plus members

It is the year 2034. Beneath the ruins of post-apocalyptic Moscow, in the tunnels of the Metro, the remnants of mankind are besieged by deadly threats from outside – and within. Mutants stalk the catacombs beneath the desolate surface, and hunt amidst the poisoned skies above. But rather than stand united, the station-cities of the Metro are locked in a struggle for the ultimate power, a doomsday device from the military vaults of D6. A civil war is stirring that could wipe humanity from the face of the earth forever. As Artyom, burdened by guilt but driven by hope, you hold the key to our survival – the last light in our darkest hour…

Yeah, that's a surprise. I can already imagine how tense that one must be.

Don't forget to leave your PS4 in standby mode tomorrow morning so you can auto-download it from the website while still at work during the day tomorrow.

Supermallet 02-03-14 05:13 PM

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

Do you not normally leave the PS4 in standby mode?

Decker 02-03-14 05:28 PM

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

It won't go into standby mode on its own (which is annoying, I wish it would). More often than not, I turn off my TV and stereo with a button push, then I get up, go to the console in the closet and press the power button on the PS4 which turns the system fully off (as I understand it).

dino88 02-03-14 05:33 PM

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

If you hold down the PS button on the controller for a couple seconds, you are given the option to enter standby mode or turn off the PS4.
