I know it's not on sale until next week, but would anyone recommend New Little King's Story, especially for under $10?

So did anyone else check out this week's freebie, Runner 2? I usually loathe eternal runner games or whatever the genre is called so I didn't even check out the demo -- despite a great review in Joystiq. Anyway, with it free, I gave it a shot. It's actually pretty fun and looks beautiful for a simple game like that. It has a gorgeous art style and a wacky sense of humor. There's no way in hell I would have spent $15 on something this simple, but going free, it turns out to be a really nice game. What a pleasant surprise.

Star Wars Pinball: I'm not crazy about Zen's physics compared to the guys who did the Williams collection, but I do love pinball.

Runner 2: I actually like endless runners, as they are one of the few genres that actually "work" on my phone. This is the first one I've played with real buttons, and I thought it was fun. Agree that it isn't worth full price though.

Divekick looks interesting. I left fighters for the same reason I left football games...overly complicated.

I was thinking of pre-ordering GTA V on PSN. For those that have done this for other games, if you do a pre-load does the game unlock at midnight or do you have to wait till the psn update to go into effect?

You get the game when the store updates. Basically what the pre-order does is that it takes your money early, and then when it's available on the store it'll come up as a free download for you.

But you won't get it at midnight, it'll be more like 2 or 3 PM Pacific. Also remember that you'll need double the hard drive space in order to download and install. So if the download is 18 gigs, you'll actually need 36 gigs free to install it.

If that will be the standard for all downloaded games then I want no part of a download only future in video games.

I don't blame you! It's my biggest pet peeve on the PS3. I do think it'll be far different on the PS4, especially with the play as you download aspect of it being pushed out there.

It's just right now, you're basically downloading a zip file, and then you have to unzip it.

The only reason to pre-order this game on PSN is if you don't own other Rockstar games. I think they're all 75% off with a GTA pre-order (though of course they've all been on sale a million times before)

Yeah, unless it's a crazy sale or a free PSN+ title, PS3 retail games should be purchased on disk. Honestly, I don't go into the store at all unless I have to because it's depressing to wait 30 seconds for it to open.

Guacamelee! is a really great game. My son is a nut for Super Metroid, and he finished it in one sitting. If you haven't dropped the $7 on that, you should get on that.

It's easily my downloadable title of the year. It's just great -- at least until the platforming and world-shifting gets too damn hard

I honestly forgot that people do this since they limited to 2 accounts. Good point.

I think that if you could get that big bundle of Rockstar games @ 75% off, that it would be a pretty good deal. But then again, how many people would consider pre-ordering GTA V and never played any of those games?
