Re: Official PSN Games Thread
I only played a few hours, and it's definitely chaotic, but not in a bad way. I didn't find it repetitive at all. It has lots of variety with the different hats, and you'll die a lot, but it has a bit of a tug-o-war feel to it. You just rush back into the fray to do your part.
I love the aesthetic and the execution, and it has a fun single player mode to get you started. for that. Easily one of the best games on PSN. Trine looks very promising as well. |
Re: Official PSN Games Thread
Braid is coming to the PSN, good news for all those people who didn't get to play it.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread
What a hypocrite! He's got a problem with a SF commercial but has no problem dropping the Sony "Bravia" name while he plays on his "Sony PlayStation 3"!? ;)
Seriously, though, that's not a huge deal. The game is loading. It doesn't seem invasive or out-of-place. If the alternative is canned Wipeout animation and a higher price, I'd say this it better. |

I think the problem lies in the progression of how they advertise products. At first we had billboards in games. That was fine since it was not invasive. I can see how doubling loading times could piss off some people. What happens when they start having full video commercials before each race? I think after the 100th time seeing the same commercial i would probably go insane. |
Re: Official PSN Games Thread
Ok, now that's a little more context and I totally agree that if the loading time is exaggerated to make room for this, that's definitely a problem and needs to be nipped in the bud.
Cycling through the same 3 commercials is a big annoyance in 1v100 on XBL. I haven't played in some weeks now, so I can't say how (if any) that's changed. |

Sony Scraps WipeOut HD Loading Ad
" The people have spoken. Spoken angrily. And Sony have listened, removing the worst of the in-game advertising from WipeOut HD only 24 hours after it was first officially announced. "The ad has been removed from WipEout HD", a Sony rep told Eurogamer, "and we are investigating the situation to ensure that any in-game advertising does not affect gameplay". Note this doesn't mean all advertising in the game has been removed; only the ad that was causing the annoying, increased load times." |

I think Wipeout HD should remain exclusive though, and I'm not sure the Flower would be as interesting on an analog stick. |

As crazy as it sounds these two games are the reason I picked up a cheap Xbox Arcade unit last year. Granted I found a bunch of other good reasons to own a 360, but playing these two was the thing that pushed me to the purchase.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread
With a few exceptions, the reason I play my 360 and my PS3 are the PSN/XBLA games.
I played Fat Princess last night and unwisely stayed up until 2AM playing it. It's great. |
Re: Official PSN Games Thread
Zen Studios sent this teaser image to some game sites:
http://bulk2.destructoid.com/ul/142866-errrr.jpg That seems to hint at a Street Fighter table for Zen Pinball. Since I already bought that for Zen's other Pinball game (the one on the 360), I'm hoping this is different. Maybe a MvC2 table??? :fc: Actually, it looks like a SF IV themed table from that logo. In either case, I'm glad they're getting around to releasing some DLC for Zen Pinball. I absolutely love that game. |

I just want Trine.
I've been watching the developer's message boards (http://frozenbyte.com/board/viewforum.php?f=15) and there's still no ETA. Sony is also not saying anything about it, as per usual. |

I have the pinball for the 360 with all the tables downloaded. Is the pinball for the ps3 any different and would you recommend it if you already have the 360 version.
If you had the PSN game I wouldn't necessarily recommend getting the XBLA version (though the two licensed DLC tables are nice), but the other way? Sure. There's a demo with one of the tables available on the PSN to check out. |

(actually, I'd like to see it on the PS3 too- to try out some multiplayer action.) |
Re: Official PSN Games Thread
My PC is not so good (the Trine demo ran pretty poorly on it), and I just prefer gaming on a console (couch > office chair). And of course, meaningless trophies are always a plus. ;)

Re: Official PSN Games Thread
I'm still not sure about Trine : I've heard rumblings that not only will it be coming to XBLA in the next few months but that it will have online co-op on the 360. If that turns out to be the case, it would certainly be the preferable version of the game.
