Re: Official PSN Games Thread
Wowza! I didn't want it at $10, but for free? Hell yeah. How long is the give away for?
|
Re: Official PSN Games Thread
It's not an error... It's "Presented by Sprint" so there's no need to, err, sprint to your console thinking this glitch will be fixed in a few minutes.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread
It goes until the 21st.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread
It's a cool game and all, but no single player mode per say. It's more of a multiplayer game.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread
Well... I'm definitely glad I didn't pay for that. I can't for the life of me summon the coordination to shake the controller, aim the stick and push buttons all at the same time.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread
ZEN Pinball demo is very cool
might consider the full game |
Re: Official PSN Games Thread
Also Daxter character is free for download to play in PAIN. Yippie!

Re: Official PSN Games Thread
Rag Doll is about as single-player as Bomberman or Street Fighter. Unfortunately, the controls are needlessly complicated. I'd be pissed if I had paid $10.
|
Re: Official PSN Games Thread
I agree. The single-player challenges are moderately entertaining, but the game would be a lot more fun to play if the motion controls could be mapped to buttons instead.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread
Purchased Zen Pinball last night. I really like it. It's definately better than the xbla one. Great tables. Too bad you can't use motion controls to nudge, though.

I finished Ratchet & Clank last night. What a disappointment. You end Future with all kinds of weapons and the Zonies have Clank. So you start Quest for Booty with no weapons and still don't rescue Clank by the end? Weak. I didn't mind the length (for $10), but it need need more action sequences and the weapons earlier in the game. I guess I can understand the fact that they can't have you rescue Clank in a d/l title. That would piss off some people(and felt like a shameless cash in), but it's a pretty unsatisfying experience. Oh well, it felt like a teaser for the new game. |
Re: Official PSN Games Thread
I agree about R&C...pretty underwhelming.
Rag Doll Kung Fu is cool, and I'm even enjoying it on single player against CPU opponents. The controls have a learning curve, but they're fun once you sort it out. Well worth the $0 I paid for it...maybe even worth $5-10. Capture the Fish FTW! |

Re: Official PSN Games Thread
And I must say : The best deal under-the-radar has got to be the PS1 games on the PSN. Full games, playable on both PS3 and PSP for $5.99 each? Compare that to N64 games ported to the DS or to XBLA or VC. I just got the last Spyo game made by Insomniac and it's very good (if slightly sea-sickness inducing). Think I'll pick up Crash Warped as well.

Thanks. Downloading...

Re: Official PSN Games Thread
Gotta go "nay" on Bionic Commando. Perhaps the most counterintuitive game ever made.
At a minimum, try the demo. If you find it unplayable, as I did, don't bother. |
Re: Official PSN Games Thread
If you liked the original game, as I did, Bionic Commando: Rearmed is pure gaming bliss. I can't speak to any other perspective, but I imagine it would take some time getting used to the focus on swinging and the lack of a jump. That's the core of the entire game, and how you feel about it will make or break the game for you.
But there's a demo for it, so...try it and see what you think. The demo is a good representation of the full game. |

Here's a very positive review of the game. I downloaded the demo for Zen Pinball and though it only lets you try one table, I was very impressed. The table and flippers were tight, the physics seemed good (though I never had any problems with them on the Live game as mentioned above) and the table was nice and spaced out. Good ramps and I liked the excited voiceover. Only negative I saw was that it only lets you control the flippers between the L1/R1 or L2/R2 triggers. This sucks a little for me since I despise the PS3 controller. The way you have to hold it can make your hands cramp up pretty quickly using either of the above controls. I would have rather they let you customize it to use the far left directional pad button and the far right O button for the flippers. But I'll live. A definite buy for me and it will be my first PSN game! Now I gotta go find a PSN card. |
