Re: Official PSN Games Thread

Tomb Raider Definitive at $18 is pretty tempting, but this business with the sequel has me thinking I should just stick with the free PS+ version on PS3. It's not a sour grapes thing...just makes me less excited about the franchise in general.

Otherwise, not much for me. Swapper looks really good, but that still feels like a bit too much.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

The Swapper is a great game. Has a weird, creepy vibe and a Portal-like puzzle mechanic. I was having a great time with it until I ran into a later puzzle and got totally stuck. I'm sure I could look up the answer, but I haven't wanted to do that yet. Overall a very good game and certainly, easily the best of the three PLAY games I picked up.
But yeah, it'll go cheaper eventually for sure.

I've been holding off on Okami because I was hoping for it to hit plus since it was on the EU at one point but I might have to give in finally at that price. You're all welcome when it's free in a month or two.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

I spent $20 on it when it came out. You won't get any sympathy from me!

It's a really great game and despite way too much gibberish talking from your sprite guide, it's still a lot of fun to play.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

If there were even a hint of PS2 classics running natively on PS4 and being cross-buy, I'd pick up Okami today. As it stands, I'll just be happy to have the Wii version...and I think a PS2 disk somewhere.

I only made it about an hour in Okami on the Wii before I got tired of the controls. But that sums up most of my Wii gaming experiences

I didn't mind the controls, but they did something to the muted color palette in the Wii port that ruined it for me. It was too colorful and didn't look "inked". It seems like a small thing, but it was part of the charm for me.

I loved the vibrant colors. It made more sense to the story than muted tones. The controls were decent once you got the hang of it. Probably put 60 hours into it.

Are any of the Vita ones worth it? I'm eyeing NFS:MW for $4.99.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

Yeah, I like it. It's not a perfect port of the PS3 version -- much less traffic for instance. But it's a good enough game for the price. I bought it for that at the last sale and it's fun to pick up and play. It doesn't have a great frame-rate, but it doesn't chug either. It's certainly a competent handheld racer.

I always enjoyed racers on handhelds. Very easy to pick up and play for small chunks of time. Any of the others worth checking out?

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

On the Vita? Not really, though the previous PS Plus freebie Sonic & All Stars Racers isn't bad. Don't really know about those WRC games.
On the PS3, Motorstorm Apocalypse is a must-have at that price. It's fun, crazy fast and mind-blowing in 3D.
GRID Autosport I haven't tried yet, but I've heard good things and it only came out three months ago for the PS3. Great price there.

I picked up Cel Damage HD. I'm a sucker for dual trophy list games. Plus, I don't have very many split-screen multiplayer games.

It's actually still going on. Thanks for the reminder, since I just picked up NFS on Vita

I guess it's cross buy too. It gave me the option after the purchase to download the Vita & PS3 versions.

Nope. All Vita games purchased remotely on the website give you the option to download the Vita game directly to your Vita or to your PS3 to transfer over later.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

Here's a simple-but-cute PSN game coming to PS4 and Vita (Cross-Buy) "Very soon" (read : might be a PS Plus freebie for October, just guessing there).

<object width="853" height="480"><param name="movie" value="//www.youtube.com/v/5WADjU9xXAc?hl=en_US&version=3&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="//www.youtube.com/v/5WADjU9xXAc?hl=en_US&version=3&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="853" height="480" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

I do love their faux-80s arcade art:

No. They said they'll announce on Wednesday. It's a weird month since there are 5 Tuesdays in September and they always wait until after the last Tuesday of the month before announcing the next month's games.
