Re: Official PSN Games Thread

You do. It's such a good value with PS Plus (minus the proprietary memory cards, of course). You'd think the nearly complete absence of any more AAA full-game titles on the system would be the death knell for the Vita, but there are SO many digital only games and so many free with Cross-Buy that it's not even important that there isn't another Uncharted or inFamous in the wings for the Vita.

I second that. There are also a ton of Japanese RPG's too. So, its another bonus if you are into those.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

You really do. With PS+ and all of the cross-buy games, it's been getting at least 4-5 free games per month for at least the past six months.

And the digital and indie titles like Spelunky, Fez, PJ Shooter, PJ Monsters, Guacamelee, Velocity Ultra/2X, Don't Starve and TkX are perfect for handheld gaming. I don't really even want to play Uncharted or Infamous that way.

At a minimum, you have to start locking in those Vita licenses on PS+ if you aren't already.

You may want to call ahead. Stock has been scarce.

Oh man. Wish I read that before heading out. Target was bone dry. The electronics guru told me that they literally sell out the moment they get stock and that he hasn't seen more than two sitting on a shelf since the Borderlands 2 bundle came out. I had no idea. Off to Amazon I go!

Not in stock there either. Only third-party gougers.

It's available at BestBuy.com though

Yeah, I noticed that. I didn't think the Borderlands bundle cost $265....

Thanks for the Best Buy link.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

You might want to check Gamestop as well, I saw a couple of the Borderlands bundles there today.

The only regret I have with my Vita is buying a 32GB memory card instead of a 64GB. I filled it up with all of the free PS+ games the day I got it.

I've been debating picking up a Vita this week just for the remote play so there isn't a war over the tv when my son and wife are both home.

Remote play is kind of a mixed bag.

As long as your wi-fi setup is decent, it works, but the button layout is a problem on a lot of games. I find that it works best for smaller indie titles that don't use all 12 buttons on the DS4 (4 shoulder, 4 face, 2 sticks, options and touchpad).

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

Also, I tried to play Diablo on the Vita via Remote Play recently and while it worked alright, the HD text in-game became unreadable on the tiny Vita screen. I ended up never knowing if I should pick up objects to fill my inventory because I couldn't read what they were.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

Well, I wrapped up Hotline Miami over the weekend. I know that game came out two years ago but now I realize why all my PC exclusive friends were raving about it. It was just phenomenal if your into that type of thing.

Also, got my Borderlands Vita bundle Friday night at Frys. It's awesome. But I'm glad that I splurged at got the larger memory card. I'd imagine that thing fills over rather fast....

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

64GB should be enough. At the time, I didn't want to spend $100 getting the card from Amazon since it's only sold in Japan. But now that my 32GB card is full, I kinda wish I would have.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

And I wish I had a 32GB.

But I don't really need access to more than 10-15 games on a handheld, and indie games usually have a smaller footprint. So I just end up deleting big stuff like Uncharted and Sly Cooper that I'd probably never play on a handheld anyway. And it's not a big deal to redownload later.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

I'm going with a 2 card rotation, swapping 2 8 GB cards. Yeah, it's a little more work, but I don't play a lot of games at the same time, so I can get by with this.

A couple people seemed to enjoy it. $20 sounds like a fair price.

I heard it's pretty short, I'm going to hold out for the physical copy being less than $20.
