Even though I defeated the game, I am having fun going back and finding all the little spots that I had missed...and grab all the skill books and bobbleheads.

I'm going all the way back through again, GOTY edition. GOTY is 'crashy' though, I just reset and deal with it.

Man... so cool to run through this again. Fawkes is with me, we're kicking ass. I've been at it a long time now, I'm level 30 and just being thorough on finding everything and getting all the add-ons completed and etc before doing the final quest. The Winterized T51b Armor is so cool to have, best in the game. I didn't have Alaska last time through.

I meant to be completely evil, but yet again I'm a Messiah. I always wind up doing the right thing and getting good karma even though I set out to be completely evil. Maybe next time I'll be rotten.

I'm in Point Lookout now, just found everything and finishing up the 'evil book' quest. Those bastards are tough. Found out that every buoy in the water there has loot underneath when doing the sub quest. Checked and found it underneath the boat, then checked the buoys.

So during the shpping day, I acquired Fallout 3 ($10) and Fallout 3 GOTY ($33.xx), however I'm wondering if the extra content is worth the extra $23. I don't play multiplayer, so is most of it single person based?

I have the same dilemma about Uncharted 2.

Re: The Fallout 3 Thread Of Exploding Teddy Bears

Fallout 3 is all single player, same as New Vegas.

I don't know if the GOTY edition is worth $23 more but it has a lot of content and complements the game really well. If you don't keep the GOTY you have to get at least one DLC to get the full story.

so i got out of Vault 101 and heading into Megaton...when exactly does the action pick up and the game get real good and heading towards epic?

so far, lot of choices, lots of text, but no action or anything.

soon, i hope...

Yeah after Megaton you should have a couple quests that will lead you to some spots with some action. That's when I really took interest in it.

You may regret this when you run into your first super mutant. Talk to a few people in Megaton and you will get a few quests that will lead you towards more people to kill.

Just run to the bomb in the middle of town, pop a mentant (I think that is the name) if you don't have explosives above 25 and detonate the bomb. That will teach those guys not to mess with you.

If your character is still very weak I'd recommend running through the Mothership Zeta mission (if you have it) early in the game. It's like a mini-game in and of itself taking about 7-8 hours to complete (I think I leveled up three times before I finished). It will allow you to stock up on advanced weapons, a ton of ammo and XP. After that ..enemies became much easier to deal with.

But one thing I learned quickly and early on - save often and save new. When you do something regrettable it's always easier just to go back then have it wreck the outcome of the remaining time spent playing - since some decisions are irreversible (like blowing up a certain key settlement).

Scott: not every game is gonna play like halo. You just have to get adjusted to the different game mechanics /gameplay. are you using vats or just running around shooting everything?

I'm another run through now. Was gonna start New Vegas, but just started another character on this and got back into it.

Man... give Charon the Blackhawk .44 and it's ridiculous how deadly he is. He's suited up in Hellfire power armor and he is death incarnate with that Blackhawk. Paladin Cross seems to shine with energy weapons like the tri-beam laser, or one of the unique sniper rifles. She shot a feral ghoul with the Reservist sniper at a full run. I just happened to have the camera angle to watch her following him through the scope as I was trying to reload, and she pulled the trigger and blew his head off in one shot. It was a thing of beauty the way she waited on it and took him, his head exploded not too far in front of me and he fell at my feet.

Oh yeah...

'I did something and it had consequences in an RPG'... Come on.

i think we are past that mentality already. i was using VATS and getting some nice headshots, but that didn't stop them all. i mean i stole some noodles or something is all.

The best rule is not to do anything that's considered a crime in the game world unless you're sneaking and hidden from sight. Also, you can just leave that area and come back a few days later and all will be forgotten/forgiven.
