re: Diablo III + Reaper of Souls (multi-platform)

Is there any reason to keep the pre expansion gems? I am debating selling them all as I doubt there are any uses for them now that the new ones drop so often.

Not anymore. The only thing you could possibly need them for is to get the two crafting achievements for creating Radiant Star quality gems. I was trying to get those, but I didn't have nearly enough Flawless Square gems to do it.

I am surprised they kept those achievements when there is no way to farm them without creating new characters over and over again...

I had some excitement with the Mystic last night. I got a great 1 hand axe a few nights ago, but it would just be spectacular with a socket. I was able to "enchant" it last night and I was lucky enough to get a socket.

it is the Burning Axe of Sankis

I sold all of my gems on the last night of the RMAH. I made $8 I think. Gems are insane in RoS. Marquise drop all the time (maybe too much)....my God I spent alot of gold just crafting one in Vanilla D3

Yeah, and the fact that you get them back when you blow up an item is great as well.

right now, I probably have at least 15 Marquise gems for each category in Reaper. I have a few imperials. The gem drops are a little too good right now honestly.

re: Diablo III + Reaper of Souls (multi-platform)

I got my Wiz to 70 last night and fought the final boss on master with a group of randoms. I figured it would be easier then when I did the fight with my WD on T1 as everyone in my group died and I had to run around ressing people for half the fight. Needless to say everyone in my group still died on master and I ran around ressing them until all their gear broke. I then ended up having to solo the boss. I have concluded that people do not have high enough toughness / resistance.

that end boss can be really tough. however, i got in a group with vballboy last night on expert and we destroyed him quickly. I bet we could have done it on Master and maybe Torment.

No, I will add you after work. I did finally figure out how to join the dvdtalk community though. I accidentally clicked on something that let me search for a community!

Like to hear from those who played this on the console and now doing RoS on the PC as far as the game play, maps and characters. Still holding out for the PS4 version.

I'm holding out as well. I'm surprised there's still not even an announcement of a release date.

Is the console version different than the PC version now that the AH is gone?

i am intrigued to start a Witch Doctor. You seem to really enjoy it. I am thrilled I was able to get my Barbarian figured out. The class isn't as nerfed as I initially thought. If I was ham-stringed to my old gear, I would be up sh1t creek without a paddle. However I have replaced it all with nice level 70 gear and am kicking ass. My DPS with my old gear was 133,000...with all of my new gear my DPS is 340,000. It is AWESOME not having to rely on the auction house and my Wallet if I want godly stuff. I have as good a chance as anyone of having some really spectacular gear to drop. I like that.

The console version does not have the adventure mode. The difficulty settings are similar but not exactly the same. And the interface for selecting equipment is a radial wheel vs. the square grid on the PC. It seems to me after playing both RoS minus AH and Console versions, the console version had more frequent rare/legendary drops.

Adventure mode is a big part of the expansion. It is not in vanilla D3.

I still need to try adv mode. I've been working on getting everyone to 70. I just need to level the monk, barb and dh to 70.

Adventure mode is worth the price alone. it is great. Go ahead and give it a try....it will help you level your other toons to 70 quick.

I figured I'd play through act 5 on each character first to get the achievements.

i am enjoying the WD. i'm also glad to hear the barb gets good. i am going to work on him next. my wizard won't be a problem getting to 70. i played with a buddy for a bit and had no issue. i'll have to see what you are doing for the barb, i kind of miss him.

for now...i got my first piece of zuni's set on my WD, and the helm i want. they are sexy. need to roll some stats on them, so i have to collect some junk legendaries to get that taken care of. check them out:

i may start a WD this weekend. Take a look at my current barbarian build. I am having alot of success with it. I am doing torment 1 fine, but my gear isn't really good enough to go much higher. I like my weapons, although I think it is time to upgrade my off-hand. I just haven't had anything drop to replace it yet. Not very many people use 2 handers anymore. I have gotten some good ones to drop, but they are never better than what i have going right now. I got one that was 2700 DPS, but it would still have been a downgrade for me. I really want to fine some good pants with sockets but no luck yet.

Try out my skills and passives and see if you like it. I will copy your WD build for sure.

that helm is sexy as shit...my friend would kill for that...

He did find an epic hardcore mojo. It might not be as needed for softcore, but it redirects 30% of all damage to his dogs. He is a true tank now.
