I did this once...I was so excited...it was chest armor when I was about level 45. The armor was like 700(I think my armor at the time was in the low 100's)...and the stats were all amazing, and it was about 50,000 gold...I bought it without even thinking because I just knew it would be bought quick. I was so happy thinking I got the deal of the century until I got in game to put in on an realized it was level 60...lol

I would put that armor on the auction for at least 15% more than you paid for it..maybe even more to see if you turn a profit. If someone buys it no harm...but if they do not you can always use it when you get to level 60...

Most reduced level items I've seen are 5-6 levels or lower. Anything higher is not only rare but gets snatched up pretty quick on the AH.

Supposedly RMAH is live next week. Will be interesting to see how it affects the gold auction house. At first, I expect everybody to start listing junk there ("Buy my level 1 grey for $250.00!"). But after things settle down I suspect that gold auction house will be for pre-60 and RMAH will be for inferno gear.

1.0.3 Patch Preview

I know I mentioned the jewelcrafting requirements going from 3 to 2, but the costs are also getting drastically reduced as well.

i have a level 42 Demon Hunter and a level 21 Barbarian.

However, I play my Demon Hunter pretty much exclusively. i want to get her to 60 before I work on my Barbarian anymore

I am on nightmare near the end of Act 2


i wish i could shop on the auction house from battlenet here at work :lol: I can't wait to see if i can find some good gear with the reduced level requirement.


is there anyway to give another player gold in the game? if there was I would get someone on my friends list to buy me something while i am at work and i will pay back later.

you can "trade" gold like you would an item. click on trade and then in the box where the money is you can enter it. the other person doesn't have to trade anything back, either. my buddy was giving me gold like crazy for a while when i was making all those square gems.

I am level 42 Demon hunter so anything strong you can get me with the reduced level stuff would be great. I will pay you when I get on tonight. I should be on tonight from 10:00pm to Midnight. I have 100,000 gold. The item doesn't have to be that much, but that is how much i have to spend.

glad to hear about this. i never really wanted to upgrade the gems, i bought what i needed from the AH before it went down and i'm just now "catching up". so i'm glad i waited to upgrade my gems and i'll just hold on to them for a little while longer

Those are ilevels (item levels). Item levels aren't the same as a level requirement to use an item, they refer to how powerful an item is.

yeah...and also if you had auctions that ended in the last 6 hours...reduces the chance you get a good price for them...and if your starting bid was low...you might end up losing an item for a 10th of what it normally would go for...

well the auction house was up for about 1 minute just now...lol then went down again...I almost grabbed a bow


I did find a 2-hand bow for the DH that was level 51 that can be used by level 43...there was a lot of them actually..but none that could be used by level 42...so you might need to gain one more level...but there were some on there that did 270 dps for about 50,000 gold...and a bunch around 200-225 that were under 20,000 gold...

from what i read in the new patch they are going to dramatically increase the pricing for repairs. that won't be a problem for me right now, but whenever I get to Inferno it will be a real stumbling block. You die ALL the time from what I hear, so you will have to keep spending tons of gold just to fix your armor.

cool, i don't think i am very far from level 43 right now. that would be great getting one of those 50,000 gold bows. if you can get one, let me know and i will pay you tonight. are they high dex too?? that would be amazing going from a 102 dps bow like I have now to a 270 dps
