Noob question, my with doctor has an axe equipped but he throws poison darts (left click). How do I use the axe?

You don't. No classes really use their main weapon to attack much, it's all skill based.

I just sent out a ton of friend requests from the gamertag list.

I am having a blast. So many great items can be purchased in the auction house at good prices if you search. However it kind of takes away from the excitement of finding loot in the game...i rarely find loot better than what i bought at the auction for cheap. Maybe that changes on higher difficulty levels.

re: Diablo III + Reaper of Souls (multi-platform)

Yeah, the auction house is nice, but I agree, it makes the game not as exciting, since I'm always equipped much better than whatever drops. I'm at level 35. It also doesn't help that I never see stuff my level drop, it's always at least several levels below me, if not more.

I think the gold auction house will become less viable at higher levels, especially when the real money auction house opens and people list their stuff there. Not sure how well that's going to work out, though. The official forums are full of folks convinced they're going to get rich selling there, but I don't know if I've seen any posts from people planning to buy with real money.

Why would someone buy items for a single player game? I could understand if this was WOW or some other MMO but what kind of advantage does one have for a non MMO game?

I haven't been this addicted to a PC game in a long time. I finished up normal yesterday with the Demon Hunter and have been switching between Nightmare with her and a newly rolled Barbarian.

I've been dying more with the Barb. so far, but still so much fun.

Finished the Staff of Herding today and went through Whimseyshire a few times. It is an amazing level. You also get a feat of strength for entering it.

It's single or up to four person multi-player. You can trade items between friends or your other characters.

Eventually there will be PvP. That and there are a lot of people that just like having the best stuff.

Depends on what people put up there. It's easier for some people to just spend real money to get the best stuff then it would be to play for hours to collect enough gold to buy them in the regular auction house.

A friend of mine just finished this earlier today. I was surprised. He's gonna tackle the Nightmare mode now.

Finished my first go at it with my Monk. Going to go with a Demon Hunter now, I'll try Nightmare later on.

The cutscenes are really incredible in this game. I just saw the cutscene before act 2 started last night. High quality stuff

Once the real money auction opens you won't find the super rare stuff on the gold auctions. Back in the old diablo 2 days, rare stuff sold for serious money on eBay.

Blizzard is best in the business when it comes to cinematic cut scenes.

Got some co-op in this weekend and this game is so great. I need to read up and see what I need to fix on my Wizard though, because he is weak compared to some of the other characters I was running with. I also need to fix my desktop (got to backup files and reinstall windows) so I can really enjoy this game, my laptop is just not cutting it.

anyone playing witch doctor?
so what weapon should i equip since i cannot use melee? I am a bit confused.

I wish there was a way to remap some keys. exploding frogs is nice, but i don't want to use it as my main attack (left-click). WD seems to have alot of useless spells.

Also, if you equip a follower with +5 exp ring, do you get that extra experience?

Groucho 05-21-12 08:43 AM

re: Diablo III + Reaper of Souls (multi-platform)

All combat skills are based on weapon damage. Each skill has it's own formula...if you hold control while hovering over the skill, it'll tell you how it works.

To move skills to different keys than the default, enable "Elective Mode" in the options.

Does anyone know if you can go back to previous points in the game? I started Act 2 last night, agreed on the comment about the great cinematic. I looked at some of the conversation achievements in the game and I missed some conversation pieces from NPCs in Act 1. Can I go back to act one and try to get those conversation pieces? Or would I have to wait until I complete the game and start another run through?

re: Diablo III + Reaper of Souls (multi-platform)

One of the menu options at character selection is "Change Quest" which allows you to skip back to any point in the game (just story wise, your character's level and equipment stay where they are at).

People paid real money for Diablo II items so it wouldn't surprise me if they did in D3.
