Re: Diablo III + Reaper of Souls (multi-platform)

The last few days I've managed to spend a little time with the new patch. Is it just me or did they really up the amount of treasure goblins. In the last 3 days I've come across 7or 8 huge packs of the goblins, or about as many big packs as I've seen in the last year. I've also been running into way more single ones too.

You also get them if you trigger them through a pylon in a rift as I had that happened too. However, I found them a little more slippery and difficult to kill them too.

Yea...we've seen some of those "Goblin Mobs" and they're a hoot. At least they are dropping something compared to Miss Stingy Kadala. Spent nearly 900 blood Shards last night and got a pair of those Stinky Pants (at least my 12th+ pair) ad those Shoulder Pads that look like Brillo Pads

We were talking last night about stuff we're seeing and not seeing...like haven't seen any more plans since the first day. But have seen far more of the "common legendary" gear....stuff that we saw a lot when we first hit Level 70.....Pig Stickers, Faux Pants, Goldwrap Belts, Fire Walker Boots, Eye of Etlich & Squirts amulets, Homing Pads shoulders and Leoric's Crowns. We've started to get some new pieces but it's been rare.

I do have one request.....if anyone has a spare Shenlong's Fist of Legend to give I'd appreciate it. I picked up my 5th Relentless Assault so I can send one in exchange. Might even have a spare Inna's Staff since I tried to convert a Rare...hoping for a Flying Dragon...and got the staff instead.

I got both the Flying Dragon and the Shenlong Fist of Legend Buzz. They are not Ancient but they are not bad. I wouldn't mind the Inna staff since that's the only thing I'm missing to complete the set.

Give me until tonight and I'll send it your way.

I've not seen a single treasure goblin since the 2.3 patch on xbox, let alone a mob I'm starting to think i'm playing the game way, way wrong.

The treasure goblins are basically saving me from throwing the controller.....I went home for lunch and ran (5) GR's at level 27...not a single Green and every one of the (10) legendary items I picked up got broken down. Then ran a Torrent 6 bounty...not a single legendary fell. Since the patch, I've seen probably (5) Goblin Mobs and we normally run at Torrent 5 & 6 depending on which characters we run.

Soooo, yeah.

I have no keys for greater rifts. Did a standard rift last night, got no key, no goblins, no legendaries, and Torment 1 because I get ass kicked on anything higher than that.

My best weapons are the ones that people send me.

You are in the same boat I am minus the weapons that friends send me because I don't have that luxury playing it on 360. My 8 year old nephew who has this game on his Xbox 360 (but mostly plays his Wii U) is the closest thing and he don't send me anything lol.

Anyway, I did actually get a really nice legendary sword for my Monk last night, who is now level 64. It made things much more bearable and so did the legendary shoulders from Kadala which is probably only the second or third time I've had a legendary from her. Anyway, in addition I had a legendary ring drop towards the end of my run. Decent stats, enough to replace my yellow, but nothing amazing. So, a rare night indeed to get 3 legendries and I only played for an hour. But I'll play it for 2-3 hours a lot of times and get a bunch of salvage gear. Anything above master/torment 1 just kicks my butt. Even with 40+ paragon levels to play with (from my demon hunter mostly).

Heck, I don't even do many normal rifts anymore because I'm just trying to get to 500 bounties.

Re: Diablo III + Reaper of Souls (multi-platform)

I would suggest to head over to the official Blizzard & Diablo site for one thing....

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/

...and sign up, head to the console forum and looking for other Xbox players. there are always plenty looking for other players but also just looking to add to the Mail Box. I would say 85% on my list I've never played with yet I'm getting "Gifts" all the time. Not only that, I get that Nemesis Demon at least once every night and it's been within five minutes of me getting in my first run. I take him down, get a Legendary and one or two Gifts to send back out.

L&O...are you on the XO or PS4....sorry but I cannot remember and I still have my 360 I play once-in-awhile.

Kendrick...sorry but all my 360 stuff was transferred so I can't help there. But I have seen some 360 owners at the Battle.net site > Forums > console still hanging around. Worth a look.

Re: Diablo III + Reaper of Souls (multi-platform)

Fired this up after a long, long hiatus. Still as fun as I remembered. I don't understand the majority of what you guys are talking about these last few posts but I'll get it soon enough. My highest char is only 45 so my plan is to finish the story then worry about all this other stuff. Tho last night, a buddy and I rolled a HC class to mess around since there is a trophy related to it. I made a WD. Not sure I like it yet. Is there a better choice for HC mode?

And finally, a big thanks to Buzz, Fox, Jason, and Lopo... I have at least 20 legendary gifts from you guys in my mail box!

I just started back up again last night too ...

How do you do greater rifts now? Do you have to be 70 first? I'm only 65 right now
and what's with that quest that zolton gave me? Where do I go to do that?

I did a Crusader for my HC choice and had no problem rocking and rolling to 70 since that character seems to be the best tank next to the Barbarian class (and arguably better). But honestly I think any class can probably make it to 70 on HC as long as you play on a reasonable difficulty. It's just about controlling your mobs and not getting trapped in corners. Also, making sure that every piece of gear is Life per/after something helps a ton when you do find yourself in tough battles.

Thanks!

A crusader is my "main" so didn't want to choose that again. I figured a WD was good due to their pets. But not sure I like the play style yet. Not digging the jar of spiders or frogs so using the darts for now. I'll have to look up some builds.

Re: Diablo III + Reaper of Souls (multi-platform)

Well last night was one of the better nights even though Miss Stingy continues to be a pain....she did give me the final missing piece to my Barbarian "Wrath of the Wastes" set. And man is that brutal....I'm still not up there and still piecing gear together but have been able to clear Torrent VII level and my best GR at 35 solo. I also finally landed one of the games most sought after weapon...The Furnace at the last run of the night. Right now it's my Monk & Barb are my go-to especially for the GR's....still a ways to go though.

Something I am doing...is taking the Monk & Barb into the GR and leveling up the other characters Legendary Gems. I finally maxed two Gems on my Barb last night. Plus some of the better gear that drops can be used for either the Demon Hunter (dexterity) or Crusader (strength).

Gooter...I'll check and see if I have any 60 Legendary gear for the Crusader. If you have room say a "Mule" to hold stuff I can send some gear I have extra and spares of. Right now I'm breaking anything down that doesn't have a attribute I can use via the Cube. Stuff like Belts, Boots and Shoulders usually share the Strength between the Barb & Crusader. And don't give up on the WD right away. The WD probably got more buffs and tweaks than all the other characters. I'd suggest reading the details of the new update.; poison and several skills got upgraded. I need to check it more and see how he plays. You see me and kanji on you are more than welcome to jump in...we have it set to invite though.

If anyone is on the PS4 and still below Level 60 or just thinking of running a Monk....I have a level 60 Inna's staff along with some of the Green Ring Sets (Level 60)

Thanks Buzz. Yeah, I'll take whatever you want to throw my way. Even non Crusader gear. I'll make a mule as I have wanted to do that anyway.

I've never finished the story so my short term goal is to do that first without too much help from my higher level buddies. Then, I'll jump right in to whatever the next part of the game is... bounties, rifts, etc.

Re: Diablo III + Reaper of Souls (multi-platform)

Good to hear...yea; we're not much on that "Power Leveling" stuff. Every one of our characters was done legit doing the story and then the other stuff. In fact the original characters were done before all these newer patches...where you basically had to run thru the story "Twice" to even get to Level 60.

And one thing for sure which I'm sure you're aware of...getting the characters to Level 60 and above to start getting the Paragon Points. Say you have or want 3-4 characters going and you have a primary main go-to. Once that character gets above 60 they start collecting Paragon Points but those points are shared among the other characters. They may look small at first but over the course of time they do add up. So beside the WD you may want a Monk, DH or Wizard, if anything get them going and to that first Town. Even if you don't play them they can be used as another mule while accumulating the Paragon Points

Re: Diablo III + Reaper of Souls (multi-platform)

I'm bummed. My level 68 hardcore Crusader (PC) was killed last night. I was doing a public bounty mission, only Master difficulty, when someone joined my game. When they did my follower quit and thus left me with no backup right when I got ambushed by a pack of elites with frozen and arcane turrets.

I like the Crusader a lot but, I think I'll start a Hardcaore Monk next.

every one of my hardcore characters I have lost still hurts. The first though, a Barb back in vanilla Diablo, still hurts the most. My friend and I played two barbs. He was built for group defense and I was built for damage. We just got done playing and I checked the auction house, and won an item. I wanted to check it out so I loaded back in the game, but back then you loaded right into the level that you left out of, and so I spawned right next to a group of elites, with none of my defenses up. I freaked out and instead of trying to take them I ran, right into a second elite group and I died. About 100 hours lost on that guy.

At this point my hammer barb and 14 sided strike monk are clearly my strongest characters. Our group can do a greater rift 68 at this point, and if we get lucky on a rift we think we can get into the 70's. We have just about every build for each character and after a lot of testing we find that 3 Hammer barbs and one 14 sided monk works the best. The monk will get exploding palm on every enemy on the screen, and the barbs do insane single target damage to help proc the exploding palm. When enemies get grouped up the damage is shocking. There is still a glitch with area damage on the console, so once that is fixed we should jump another few levels on the rifts.

The Witch Doctor drops out at around greater rift 62. He has a lot of team crowd control and team damage boost, but he just dies way too fast. We have had one on a GR 65, but the barbs and monk carried him.

The Demon Hunter has insane damage, but once you get to enemies that take more than a few seconds to kill he has a hard time keeping up hatred and he also will die in one hit no matter how much you get his toughness up. We find around 65 is the best we can do in a group, he feels like he does not help the group much. I guess more and more Demon Hunters are going to the Nat's build, so we might try that out.

The wizard feels broken and we have tried everything, but at this point he feels week. Maybe GR 55, and then he drops out. We have tried other builds but nothing seems to work. I would say the wizard needs the most help.

Crusader has not seen a lot of love from our group, we just don't play him much.

The Barb has insane toughness, damage and he will heal over 100,000 hit points with each swing of his hammer..which is about 2 times a second. He can not be crowd controlled in any way. In game toughness is around 200 million.

The Monk has even higher toughness, and about 90 percent crowd control immunity. His toughness in the middle of a fight is around 270-300 million. He can also get out of trouble faster than any character.

I am now around 3000 hours into this game between the pc and console...and I still enjoy it.

Man, I am so sorry. . That really does suck. My hardcore Crusader did make it to 70..but I sincerely think that's only because I was playing on Normal and never had a friend join in. But I knew that was the only way to get the hardcore achievements I needed. Be careful with your Demon Hunter, I absolutely love mine, she was my first Level 70 and my only character with legendaries on every slot but they can be a bit touchy and die quickly if you aren't actively engaged.

And maybe when you make it to level 67..68...just coast into Level 70 alright ?

Re: Diablo III + Reaper of Souls (multi-platform)

So here's my current problem with Diablo:

My first char was a wizard. LOVE the wizard. I think a lot of it has to do with how flashy he is. His spells light up the entire fricken screen with pretty lights, so it really looks like he's doing something.

From what I've seen of the other characters, they all pale in comparison. The Witch Dr is kind of close, but the melee guys seem outright boring to me. I've got both the barb & monk up to around 50, but ... blah, they're just not fun, mainly because almost all their attacks look the same. Am I missing something? By 70 do they unlock spells that rival the wizard in prettiness?

Re: Diablo III + Reaper of Souls (multi-platform)

I've got all the characters to 70 and play them all. Yea...the Wiz is a bit more flashy with all their spells, wand, Hydras, Slow Time and Blizzards but all have strong and weaknesses both solo and co-op which is where the variance comes into play. Some have more support roles than others so it's good to mix them up.

But I get what you mean since with the Wizard you can have a Cold, Fire, Arcane or mix build which is a bit fun to play using say a Hydra or Blizzard in the mix. Or throwing out Slow Time with Duplicates is a hoot. But the Witch Doctor has become a favorite of mine since he got he most upgrades and buffs with the new patch. He has more "Pets" to play with which can get sort of funny to watch not to mention his Voodoo skills.

But the Barb, Crusader, Monk and Demon Hunter each have their own style though the Barb and Crusader don't bring along "Pets" and not as flashy in some cases like the Wiz. A lot has to do with the gear itself which with all the characters at Level 70 plays a huge part since you start getting the Green Sets.

PS....I assume you still are not signed up for PS Plus? If and when you do, you and Gooter should hook up as both are still under Level 70 and can clear the story together. FWIW...I've been sending Gooter extra gear via the Mail on a few characters with some of it at Level 70 so he'll have something right away and if not break it down. Also you can head over to the official Blizzard site, just look for those who want to be on the Mail List, send friend request with a note "On Diablo wanting Mail Friends". The more Mail friends the better chance to pick up and get Mail...Gifts....which some have turned out to be good Legendary or Green Set items.
