And it'll print out automagically or do I need to join some rewards program?

You need to join Shop Your Way Rewards then it'll print automatically when you scan your card.

You need to join their rewards program, but it's free. I did it in store and it took less than a minute to get it all set up.

Yes...the game could be terrible, but Rockstar has a pretty strong record of putting out quality product. Even putting their name on it means something to most people. If the game comes out and is terrible a lot of people will definitely get burned, sure, but with everything I've seen thus far I'm not too concerned for myself as far as enjoyment level. However....I'm also cynical, so I'd still go ahead and get your "Told you guys!" posts all ready to go for next Tuesday. ;)

(Also...going the Best Buy route for me is essentially $35 for the game, and that's worth the risk based on my feelings about Rockstar branded releases.)

I associate Rock Star with repetitive sandbox games with rigid controls, I really hope LA Noire doesn't fall into that genre.

Re: Whatever happened to LA Noire? -here's some info

After looking at fro talk about BB, I changed my mind largely because I wasn't sure I'd find a sub-$20 game in stock at K-Mart I cared about. And I checked my RZ Gamer's Club account and I was $18 away from the next $10 bonus from that.

So, if my math is correct:

$60 out of pocket for the game and $15 gift card. Future $10 from 500 point pre-order bonus. Another future $10 from rolling over the $150 spent on games. Possibly enough to roll over the regular $250 for another $5.

Also I get an exclusive DLC outfit that I can sell on eBay or Amazon?

Done.

EDIT: I forgot there's some bullshit that I can't use my RZ account when I order online. Says some stuff doesn't match, so I guess I'll just do it in store. Bonus, I have $15 in RZ coupons already so it'll be $45 out of pocket.

That does sound like a good deal as well. I'm still going the Kmart route since I just got a $15 gift card for Lego POTC and might still pick up a $15 coupon with MX vs ATV Alive this week.
Do we know for sure you get the $10 credit and the $15 GC at Best Buy?

And any opinions on Singularity?

Re: Whatever happened to LA Noire? -here's some info

Yes, you get both. I almost finished the checkout process just now but for the stupid RZ info mis-match. One's a pre-order bonus through the Gamer's Club. The other's a deal for everyone at POS.

Singularity is a very short game (like 4 hours for me) but it was a very enjoyable experience for those 4 hours. I really liked it.

Where online does it say you get the $10 for pre-ordering LA Noire? I've scoured the site. See the $15, see the Sharpshooter suit (BFD). Saw preorder bonus points for Brink, but not for this game.

And I will be one of those people who's burned, as it's already paid off in full. My preorder is not based on the rockstar name as it seems a lot of people put a ton of faith in, but merely on the type of game that's being portrayed.

Rock Star is bringing something to the table with the Social Club integration, so I guess that's pretty cool. There's even a feature where you can see how other people responded at certain junctures of each case ("intuition").

Re : Bonus Suit DLC : I get the appeal of a bonus case, like Game Stop and Wal Mart are getting, but with these suits, I don't. Is there any fundamental difference between playing with a stat-boosting armor and playing the game at a lower difficulty level? I can't really see it, except perhaps in the amount of Nerd Points you might end up earning for beating the game.

Can you explain the 500 point bonus? I don't see that on BB's website related to this game.

Decker just asked the same question and I linked him up a few posts ago. It's part of the Gamer's Club on the Reward Zone.

you have to call them and fix it. i had the same problem with my RZ account and it was due to me moving and have 2 different addresses: my current address for shipping and my old address on my RZ card. pretty easy fix for the RZ CSR, IIRC.

My math was similar to pinatas on the value of BB over other retailers. The other big plus is my buddy wants to play and is willing to wait a little, so he's going to give me cash for half the cost of the game once I'm done with it.

The frustrating bit is everything that I can see matches up so there's some crap in their private system that isn't being updated by the customer-facing systems. So stupid.

Thanks, but the link doesn't bring up anything on BB's website regarding the offer. Maybe they removed it?
