With it in the game, people are given the illusion that there's other stuff to do. Therefore it can only result in either people like you who don't care either way, or people who like open world stuff and then consider it a strike against the game.

However reading that it was initially there for a reason, so when you fail a case you're sent out to do menial tasks... that makes sense. This game was lucky to have come together at all.

I wonder if they'd be willing te reintegrate the menial tasks as either a DLC or expansion patch (along with new cases, of course).

I believe Team Bondi is shut down, and with the Complete Edition already out I can't imagine there's anything else coming out.

Really? Did this not sell well at all?

It sold really well, but from what I understand the studio had a lot of management issues and controversy. A lot of stuff came out about really bad working conditions, and I believe even Rockstar talked about how they didn't want to work with them anymore. From Wikipedia, it looks like they couldn't get funding for their next project so they just collapsed.

Re: LA Noire - The Thread.

Well that's quite a shame. But it seems Rockstar retained the rights to the IP and even kept some of the Team Bondi staff in the different Rockstar studios.

Yeah apparently the management team at Team Bondi were a collection of assholes. Some of the stories I've read about that place makes it even more amazing that this game ever came together at all.

I bought the complete version a few weeks ago from Bestbuy.. and have been playing this week. I am just amazed on how cool this is. I just completed the first homicide case. Too bad there won't be more from the makers.

Never say never. Rockstar could make it happen.

Yeah, I doubt Rockstar would bother to hire on former Team Bondi employees and secure the rights to the IP unless they had plans to either make a sequel or similar games to it.

That would be cool. Anyhow I am still in awe on about how big the world is. I had one of those street crimes on the other side of town and it took like 20 minutes to get there! Needless to say I let my partner drive on the way back.

I liked it a lot. I ended up doing every last thing to do in the game, even collecting the 20 badges that came as part of the DLC. I'd love to see a sequel from Rockstar.

So Frank Darabont is now doing a show for TNT called LA Noir. Unrelated, and yet not. Kinda interesting.

I just finished the cases. The last ones were great and totally were a great way to finish the game. I still need to go back to get the final few papers, badges and film reels. Also short about 20 cars, but that seems impossible.

It's "unrelated" in the same way Filmation's "Ghostbusters" was unrelated to the film. They can say it's based on a book all they want but they're clearly implying a connection.

It's not impossible but tedious. There is also a little glitch thing you can do in the menu to help certain cars just appear when you go back in the game.

I am really hoping that we see another game like this set in a different city. There are plenty of things they can improve and add to the game.

I know. I would love a 1960s San Francisco setting. Or maybe Prohibition-era Chicago.

The Chicago setting during that era would be awesome. They could have a city/country map with some illegal backwoods activity.

Pretty cool. I wonder if any other games will utilize this technology in the near future?

Edit: looks like they're going to use it for something called "Whore of the Orient". I think that title may need to change if they want to sell it at Walmart.

Re: LA Noire - The Thread.

So "Asian Whore" then?
