If anyones still interested in the game, Folklore is $15 at best buy in the clearence section. Thats a great deal considering most stores still have it priced at $60.

I was tempted, but as usual I can't play FPS games with a controller. If there was a mouse and keyboard option I would buy, but I doubt that will happen.

I added you, bunkaroo, hopefully I'll see you on sometime.

I d/led the BioShock demo. Been interested in this game for quite some time, but I don't own a 360. I enjoyed the demo: a definite purchase!

I haven't really been keeping up with PS3 news lately, but didn't they announce a price drop at E3 this year? Did that price drop already occur? Which model will it affect, and what is the new price? I have a friend wanting to buy a PS3, and I wanted to be sure she doesn't buy it before the price drop occurs.

The only thing I heard about was a $40 price drop at Blockbuster on the discontinued 40GB model. ($399 > $359) I don't think most places even carry that model any more. The 80GB model is now $399 ... I don't know how long ago that happened.

There's a new 160GB model with Drake's Fortune, Pain (download code), and the DualShock 3 due in November for $500.

keep in mind the new 160GB model will be the same as the 40GB and 80GB models; theres no PS2 BC, only 2 USB, and no memory card readers.

I have the 80 gig mgs4 bundle. Its ps1 and ps2 BC. Did Sony take out the BC on new 80 gigs? It's getting really annoying how Sony keeps changing their minds on what goes into the ps3.

Yes they did, annoyingly. The MGS model was was the last one with BC. It's really stupid, but I guess it's a cost saving measure. I'm really happy I got one of the last 60 GB models a year ago. I'll happily surrender 20 gigs for the ability to play my PS2 games and keep all my old saves as well.

I have a 60GB that i bought in Dec 2006 and i LOVE IT! that was really the complete console. Sony had to cut costs somewhere since people were pretty outragous of the price tag at launch, so that was the route they had to take.

Atleast the hard drive is upgradable to any size as long as its a 2.5 SATA.

I upgraded my 60GB to 160GB about a year and a half ago and still have 95GB left, i got several demos, music, vids, pics, etc. I was thinking of putting in a 320GB but i think 160GB is good enough for me.

Playing PS2 and PS1 games are another plus, i have a slim PS2 and games don't look that great on a HDTV but on the PS3 they look fantastic thanks to the upscaler. I guess i understand why people are looking for the MSG Bundle.

Maybe they might bundle Resistance 2 with the 80GB like they did with MGS.

I cherish my 60GB PS3. I haven't upgraded the HDD yet, but it works so well with my portable USB drive I haven't really needed to. I just put video I want to watch on there or a 4GB Flash card.

I hate that Sony cut costs by dropping B/C, the memory card readers and 2 of the USB ports, but at least they left in the Wi-Fi.

I have to ask what B/C is that has been referred to the last couple of posts?

I have a new 80GB system (Just got on Wednesday). I don't mind too much that it can't read the PS2 memory cards because I still use my PS2 in the bedroom as a DVD player, so I can play the old games in there if I want to. I do kind of wish the PS3 had a slot for SD cards so I could just plug my camera's memory card into it... perhaps I can just plug my camera directly into it and d/l the photos that way - I hadn't thought of that.

BC = Backwards compatibility with Playstation 2 games. The first PS3 models had hardware BC, so they played almost all PS2 games (there'd still be an occasional glitch). The next PS3 models had software BC, and still played many PS2 games (I've seen 80% thrown around as the percentage, but I don't know if that's accurate. The newest models have no BC.

I think the easiest way to tell the USA 80GB models apart is:
4 USB ports = software BC
2 USB ports = no BC
... but they've gone through several different bundles so I don't know if that's still the case for all of them.

Earlier models had it ... that's another thing they phased out.

Yeah, I was checking on there.
Most of the offers were from Hong Kong and the shipping around $15.

Question here:

I have the 60gb PS3 and have 2 wrestling games (Fire Pro Wrestling Returns and Smackdown vs Raw 07) where you can unlock things such as wrestlers and rings and create new wrestlers. Is there any way I can transfer a save from someone that unlocked everything using a USB jump drive?

It depends on the save format. If the save file is .psv you just have to create few folders inside each other, way it goes is PS3->EXPORT->PSV and just put all the saves in the PSV folder. Insert the USB on the PS3 and go to GAME on the XMB and you should see a USB icon on the top, select it and just copy the saves to the hard drive.

But if its a PS2 save format (like codebreaker or Action Replay, its either .cbs or .max format ) you need to have a PS2, codebreaker or action replay disc, and the PS2 memory card adapter for the PS3. You basically have to convert the .max or .cbs to the PS2 memory card format and transfer that to the PS3. The way you do it is;

- have the PS2 memory card on slot 1 or 2 on the PS2 itself
- put the .max or .cbs save on your usb
- insert the codebreaker or action replay max cd on your ps2
- there should be something about accessing the save from your usb
- it should transfer the save from your usb to the memory card
- once the save is on your memory card, insert it to the memory card adapter on the PS3 and transfer the saves from the memory card
