I haven't watched the video, but there are some tracks on there I think are no-brainers for music games, and I'm surprised they aren't on already. I don't like 100% covers, at least on a full price or near full price game.
I'm open to more band games, as long as they each offer something different, at least in terms of setlist, and the instruments have got to be more widely compatible (there's no way I will buy a RB1 set, a RB2 set, a Rock Revolution set, etc; but if i can just buy the game disk and use the hardware/accessories I already have, I would look into it.)
Of course, I'd prefer RB offer all the songs I want as DLC, I'd rather pick and choose 2 dollar songs than buy another franchise disk at 50 bucks (again, depending on the specific setlist).

Speedy just posted the Best Buy ad and it appears this game is for sure coming out next week. Below is the "unique" track list assuming you have a 360, kept all your GH games and exported RB 1 into RB 2. Note: Run to the Hills is on here (for exporting reasons) and Dr. Feelgood will be removed if the Crue album is true.

So, here is the 25 unique track list:

"Am I Evil?" Metallica/Diamondhead
"Cum on Feel the Noize" Quiet Riot
"Diary of Jane" Breaking Benjamin
"Dr. Feelgood" Mötley Crüe
"The End of Heartache" Killswitch Engage
"Falling Away from Me" Korn
"Given Up" Linkin Park
"Heading Out to the Highway" Judas Priest
"Holy Wars...The Punishment Due" Megadeth
"Kiss Me Deadly" Lita Ford
"Last Resort" Papa Roach
"Magic Man" Heart
"No One Like You" Scorpions
"Pain" Three Days Grace
"Paralyzer" Finger Eleven
"Run to the Hills" Iron Maiden
"Sk8er Boi" Avril Lavigne
"Somebody Told Me" The Killers
"The Spirit of Radio" Rush
"Still of the Night" Whitesnake
"Stone Cold Crazy" Queen
"Walk" Pantera
"We're Not Gonna Take It" Twisted Sister
"White Room" Cream
"Youth Gone Wild" Skid Row

There are some AMAZING songs on there I just can't pass up. I am going to buy this and will take one for the team. I will be happy to report on the "funness" of the game or the quality of the covers.

If RR has Spirit of Radio by Rush I think it is only a matter of time before it shows up in Rock Band.

I'll be looking forward to it. From what I've seen the game looks pretty bad, presentation wise. I just want to know what the songs sound like. I've got guesses, but I'll wait till their verified.

Agreed, but they may be on a Rush hiatus because we have been hit over the head by them.

No problem at all. I agree, it looks shady at best, but I will be objective. I have rewards zone certificates that are expiring and I have nothing to put it to. I have nothing to lose and have no reason to hype it up since I paid money for it.

But I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt on the fact that of all the videos I have seen, none have been on hard/expert difficulties. So I am curious to see how that plays out.

There are good songs in there, but I have no confidence in Konami's covers judging by my experience with KR:AI. Also, the presentation leaves a lot to be desired.

This is going to have to blow you away to get me to give it the ol' stink-eye again.

I'll waste a rental on it at some point in the near future too.

My expectations are low...and yes, I did buy the KR: AI game as you did too. And yes, it immediately went on Amazon as I realized my nieces and nephews did the covers.

But when you are talking about Queen, Quiet Riot, Pantera, Skid Row, Twisted Sister, Diamondhead, The Killers, etc....it just can't be ignored. I just can't sit back as a music fan without giving it a chance.

I should have it done by Tuesday night (if I can find it early) or on Wednesday night.

One huge negative I have read is the top down approach makes it more difficult to catch all the notes as they come to you.

You're a braver man than I and I genuinely am looking forward to your impressions.

First review: http://www.1up.com/do/reviewPage?cId=3170661&p=37

I know a score of a D should probably deter me from buying the game tomorrow, but damn if that is not the worst review I have ever read. The basis of his review is the drum set which no one will ever buy or use.

He didn't get into the guitar mode at all or touch on anything else.

Really, really poor reviewing skills.

I am still going to get it tomorrow.

Well the drums are basically the basis of the game, since they're not even bothering with a guitar controller. He should have covered guitar mode though.

I agree with you, but the drum set is not the basis of the game. The large majority that purchases this game will not look at the game from the viewpoint of the reviewer...they will be using their exisiting drums.
