We need the boy band version that comes with multiple Dance Dance Revolution pads and wireless headset mics. They just put one set of arrows on the screen, because all 5 guys have to pull off identical moves.

Just for the "I'm not stupid" file, I'm a big Diamond Head fan. Definitely one of the better NWOBHM bands. I thought it sounded like Metallica, but without hearing the vocalist I couldn't say for sure.

That's a pretty good setlist, but I think I'll still pass on this one.

Don't forget that EVERY song in Rock Revolution is going to be a cover!

Also, no vocals, as they don't want to cut into their Karaoke Revolution cash cow.

Every song? I can't see many bands pulling off Dream Theater let alone a studio band for a video game. Definite pass then.

I have heard amazing covers and I have heard some pretty bad covers.

I will wait to see how the songs I love are covered before I decide.

If there are at least 10 unique songs that I want, I am going to get it. Really curious to see what the final 25% of the list is going to be.

Also I have my doubts that Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater) would allow a cover version in the game.

Per youtube comic con video, you can add:

Linkin Park "Given Up"
Rush (no title given)
and DLC

I don't do Karaoke games, but Konami did release a ton of DLC for the American Idol XBOX version even though all of the songs were on prior last gen systems. So not sure how they will support this DLC wise.

GameSpot Preview

Unlike Rock Band and later Guitar Heros, all songs in Rock Revolution will be cover versions.

In response to the topic title:

As stupid as Wii Music looks, and at this point I must say it looks pretty stupid, I will tip my cap to Nintendo for not pushing another plastic instrument music rhythm game.

I don't own any yet, but might take a look at GH4 later this year.

I think they should keep releasing band games, making the fake instruments more and more sophisticated with each iteration until they had finally duped us all into actually learning to read music and play real instruments.

That, or RichC2's suggestion of 42.

They're too busy pushing their plastic baseball bat, golf club, tennis racket, boxing glove, badminton racket, and steering wheel to worry about a silly plastic guitar, sheesh

Eh, out of all of those, only the steering wheel is made by Nintendo.

To count the others would be like giving credit to Nintendo for releasing GH's Les Paul.

I was referring to the use of the Wiimote, which simulates all of the above...and the last time I checked (under the 1/2 inch of dust), Wiimotes are made by Nintendo.

Final setlist has been revealed and price point of $50 for the game and $130 for the bundle.

"All My Life" Foo Fighters
"All the Small Things" Blink-182
"Am I Evil?" Metallica/Diamondhead
"Are You Gonna Be My Girl" Jet
"Bad Reputation" Joan Jett
"Blitzkrieg Bop" Ramones
"Chop Suey!" System of a Down
"Cum on Feel the Noize" Quiet Riot
"Dance, Dance" Fall Out Boy
"Detroit Rock City" Kiss
"Diary of Jane" Breaking Benjamin
"Dirty Little Secret" All-American Rejects
"Dr. Feelgood" Mötley Crüe
"The End of Heartache" Killswitch Engage
"Falling Away from Me" Korn
"Given Up" Linkin Park
"Heading Out to the Highway" Judas Priest
"Highway Star" Deep Purple
"Holy Wars...The Punishment Due" Megadeth
"Joker & the Thief" Wolfmother
"Kiss Me Deadly" Lita Ford
"Last Resort" Papa Roach
"Magic Man" Heart
"No One Like You" Scorpions
"Our Truth" Lacuna Coil
"Pain" Three Days Grace
"Paralyzer" Finger Eleven
"Pull Me Under" Dream Theater
"Round and Round" Ratt
"Run to the Hills" Iron Maiden
"Sk8er Boi" Avril Lavigne
"Somebody Told Me" The Killers
"Spoonman" Soundgarden
"The Spirit of Radio" Rush
"Still of the Night" Whitesnake
"Stone Cold Crazy" Queen
"Walk" Pantera
"We're Not Gonna Take It" Twisted Sister
"White Room" Cream
"Won't Get Fooled Again" The Who
"Youth Gone Wild" Skid Row

Even though covers, some great songs on the list. Too many doubles though. I counted about 20 unique songs I found interesting enough so I think I will most likely get the game only. Hard for me to say no to some of the 80's metal, Pantera, etc... that is on the setlist.

Only way I'll buy this is if the good ol' 360 controller standard comes into play and I can play with the GH controllers and the RB drums.

GH guitars have been confirmed. Drums are uncertain.

This looks fucking terrible...I love these type of games but watching the notes going down the screen is just brutal... pass... I'd love to have a few of these songs (last resort, pain, paralyzer, given up, falling away from me) but I'd want original versions and be able to do vocals, so hopefully some of these good songs can show up as DLC for rock band 2.

That was actually the clincher for me to make it about $2 a song for the ones I really wanted.

The chart layout does look pretty awful, but I am just a sucker for as many great songs as I can my hands on.

The good news is that if Konami can get the rights to these songs, RB/GH should be around the corner.
