Sony's 10 year life-cycle is often misunderstood.

Sony has had a 10 year plan for each of its consoles.

The PS1 started production in 1995 and stopped in 2006. The hardware was produced for 11 years, but software dried up almost as soon as the PS2 hit in 2000.

The PS2 started production is 2000, and Sony hasn't said anything officially but I would assume that they will keep producing PS2 hardware until 2010-2011 and maybe even longer since PS2 hardware is still selling so well. But how much PS2 software is still produced? None that I can think of.

The PS3 is the same thing. Sony will produce the hardware for 10 years, but that does not mean it will be their primary console plan for 10 years. I would not be at all surprised if they already have the PS4 prototype built behind closed doors and plans to launch it in a few years.

The Rock Band and Guitar Hero games are still being released on the PS2. That's all I know of.

That's great news! Hopefully all conflicts are settled with games of "Bejeweled".

I understand it fine. They came in a year late to the game with the PS3 and haven't really had a high point yet outside of launch. That leads me to believe they will ride out the 'peak' time of the PS3 longer than they did with PS1 & PS2.

I enjoyed the first one (good guy with evil guy) so I'm looking forward to this one as well.

It looks like gameplay footage to me, but man I feel like it would be tough to maneuver around like that from those camera angles. However I did like that animation was quick. Playing Assassin's Creed I wish some of the animations were sped up, especially while climbing.

That looked pretty sweet.

Yeah, one of the people I was showing it to said that it probably wasn't gameplay (and I'm not say it is) but I had to show him the rooftop chase scene from the first game to illustrate that it's quite possible that they COULD do that as a gameplay sequence.

What made me think it was gameplay footage, was that some of the animations were repeated. If you notice a couple of times the player sort of runs into a wall, and you see her push and turn away from it sort of the same way every time. I think that wouldn't have been done that way if it wasn't gameplay footage, but maybe I'm completely off.

Ubisoft can burn in hell... Lets release a bunch of games that we will drop to 20 bucks within a month, but halt production on a game that was a sleeper hit, and has a real chance to do better than any of those recent games on the system

So has BG&E2 outlasted Duke Nukem Forever as longest development hell? We're almost 4 generations on since the first game came out and they've now passed the 16 year mark since Ancel said the game was in pre-production.

Vaporware that will never live up to the decades long wait if it ever sees the light of day.

That is the exact vibe I got from the BG&E2 trailers. It's also what's kept my excitement for it at a minimum.

What will we get first: BG&E2 or Spaceballs 2: TSFMM?

PS5? At the rate it's been progressing, even PS6 would be optimistic.
