Digital games too cheap.
If anything, they're still far too expensive and buying physical wins out nearly every time. |

Since the PS4/XOne came out, I've bought 1 (one) game digitally, and that was only because I wanted to preload it and play first thing in the morning, and not wait for stores to open or do a midnight release (fuck that noise, amirite?). I still payed the same price as I would have if I'd gone to the store. For me personally, I'm not one to build up a library of games to gawk at or to go back and replay months/years later. I like to resell my games, so my money will almost always go towards purchasing a physical copy. |

Yeah, who does their data collection? They might want to hire someone who isn't high.

Re: GameStop is Vile and Disgusting Part XXVII
I did mean for consoles. This is Gamestop we're talking about here, after all. I'm not sure they even have a PC game section anymore.

Re: GameStop is Vile and Disgusting Part XXVII
They do online...

Re: GameStop is Vile and Disgusting Part XXVII
Digital games being too cheap? Nope. I never bought games until they drop below twenty anyway, digital or otherwise.

Re: GameStop is Vile and Disgusting Part XXVII
The prices would have to be cheaper than I can get at BestBuy with GCU for me to go digital (or the same with some digital bonuses/exclusives and a game I could just play here and there throughout the year).

Re: GameStop is Vile and Disgusting Part XXVII
WTF was that guy talking about? Digital console games don't usually go on sale until well after their Physical copies have dropped substantially in price. And even then, they're usually $20 more than they should be. I paid $59 for Forza Horizon 2 digital when I could have had it for $45 physically because I didn't want to swap out discs to play that one.
He has to be including Steam on that, and last I checked Gamestop doesn't even sell PC games in stores unless it's a Blizzard title or Minecraft. |
Re: GameStop is Vile and Disgusting Part XXVII
Yeah, outside of PS+ freebies, downloadable games on consoles rarely go on sale, especially compared to their physical-disc counterparts.

Re: GameStop is Vile and Disgusting Part XXVII
That has always been one of my main arguments against going fully digital. It moves it from being more of buyer's market, to being a seller's market, where the consumer base has very little control over pricing. Whether or not that's a good thing, long-term, for the industry or not, can be debated, but it would be hard shifting to a marketplace where an item's price potentially remains the same throughout its entire viable lifespan, even if demand has dropped.
Add to that the lack of consumer transferability, the need for massive storage space, and increasing content-security mechanisms (It still bugs me that I lost the ability to customize my Mii when I sent my Wii in for warranty service years ago), and shifting fully to a DD marketplace is an entirely unattractive prospect to me. |

Yeah Fuck em. Sony and MS can control their own product and give away free games to their consumers.
Poor Gamestop. |

Unless he went back and deleted a bunch of posts, I don't see anything too crazy from the last posts he had on here.

Re: GameStop is Vile and Disgusting Part XXVII
I think a full thread got expunged.

Re: GameStop is Vile and Disgusting Part XXVII
That might make sense; I know there were a few cases where people got mad and deleted threads they started in a fit. I don't recall if Pixy was one of those.

Re: GameStop is Vile and Disgusting Part XXVII
That time Pixy started raving about some Japanese indie game whose title hadn't been translated into English yet. . . #VideoGameTalkClassics

If we start talking about SHMUPs he might come back.
