Oh. I thought those were MS Points. Never heard of Amazon doing that sort of thing before. Kinda weird.

Still think I'll go the Kmart route. Their Halo Reach deal was better than Amazon and I bet that this will be too.

I want the PS3 Hardened Edition but that appears to be the only one they have marked as not available.

I think it's their way of getting around Kotick's money grubbing bullshiz...

I'm confused. What are the "200 points" and how does a person use them? Why have amazon's pre-order deals suddenly converted to points instead of cash credit?

I wish Rock Band 3 would have had a $20 credit.

From the website link:
Spoiler:

What are Pre-order Bonus Points?

Pre-order Bonus Points are redeemable for any item in the Amazon.com Video Games store. 200 Pre-order Bonus Points are worth a $20 promotional credit toward the purchase of any item from the Amazon Video Games store shipped and sold by Amazon.com. Your points will be automatically converted to promotional credit, and will be automatically added to your account with a qualifying purchase.

To Receive the Promotion:

1. Add the qualifying item described in the offer to your Shopping Cart via the Add to Shopping Cart button on the product information page.
2. The promotional credit will be added directly to your Amazon.com account after your qualifying item ships once processing is complete.
3. To redeem your promotional credit, add an item from the Amazon Video Games store sold and shipped by Amazon.com to your shopping cart and proceed to checkout. The discount from the promotional credit will be visible after you have reached the final checkout stage. The promotional credit must be used by its expiration date, 11/30/2011.

Terms and Conditions

* Pre-order Bonus Points are only available with purchase of certain qualifying games.
* Offer good for all pre-order customers who have not already received promotional credit on this item.
* The promotion is limited to one per customer; promotional credit will not be applied to customer accounts who have already received promotional credit from a qualifying promotion on the same item.
* The promotion is valid for a limited time only. Amazon reserves the right to cancel it at any time.
* If you do not purchase the qualifying item when the promotion is in effect, you will not receive promotional credit.
* The promotion applies only to items sold and shipped by Amazon.com. The same items sold by other sellers (e.g. Target) do not qualify.
* If you return the qualifying items purchased to obtain the promotional credit, we will subtract the value of the promotional credit from your return credit.
* Does not apply to orders placed with 1-Click. The offer may not be combined with other offers.
* Offer good while supplies last.
* Promotional credit has no cash value.
* Void where prohibited.

Like I said above, it really means nothing to the consumer. It's just a way around Activisions restrictions. By the time the credit gets to you it's just like all the other video game credits Amazon offers.

Kmart is doing the same thing but they are giving away $25 worth of points.

With the Amazon promotional credits, I see you can only get 1 per account, but can you use a credit from one account on a different account? My brother wants CoD, but he will never use the credit for another game, so it'd be nice if I could use his credit and mine on a game in the future.

:hscratch: Just order the game you want from his account.

Yeah, but it'd be nice if I could use the $20 credit I get from ordering CoD on my account along with the $20 credit he gets on his account (to get $40 off a single future game, as opposed to $20 off 2 separate games...since I don't really have many games I'm looking forward to either).

Yeah, you won't be able to do that.

Looks like Amazon has matched Target on the Buy 2 Get 1. If its not every game, it is at least most.

Is there an updated sale page, or did you find this out by going all the way through the checkout process?

I was planning on an early trip to Target. But it seems Amazon didn't want me to go to Target today! Good deal, saved a few more bucks. First batch of purchase is Fight Night Round 4, Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood, and Battlefield: Bad Company for the $19.99 games. Looking for the next batch, probably the $29.99 games next. Too bad MLB The Show 10 is not part of the deal, really wanted to get this.

Thanks for the post!

Thanks for the heads up. Target isn't allowing DS games in the sale, but Amazon is. Got a few Christmas gifts from Amazon.

Gah! No Halo Reach on the list! Had planned on grabbing that, RB3, and Fallout...suppose I'll head to Target for those.

The offer for the free 3-pack of Doors songs is only good through tomorrow anyway (and it requires that you use RB3's in-game store).

Unfortunately, that is a little 'meh' for me, as I hate The Doors, although the idea of free is always nice.

Seriously.

I was really happy to see this deal online this morning but Fable being off the list killed it for me.

So I put on my pants, made the five minute drive to Target, and got the three games I wanted. No crowd or shortage of games, so it all worked out for me.
