Actually, I meant 3. I think it has as good a chance as New Vegas being the deal.

Re: Amazon Video Game Deal Thread .

9am might be Mass Effect 2
11 am could be the Dragon Age: Awakening release.

I don't think they would put items in the gold box that aren't released yet, would they?

I don't think I've ever seen a pre-order in the Lightning Deals.

Re: Amazon Video Game Deal Thread .

I got an email from Amazon by subscribing to the Lightening Deals email list. It has all the deals of the day listed. I was right on my 9am and 11am guess.

Spoiler:

The deal of the day and all lightning deals today are Xbox 360 related. Deal of the Day:
Bioshock 2 (Xbox 360/PS3) - $39.98

All lightning deals today are Xbox 360 games/hardware

6AM PDT - Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (Get ready to tussle with an infamous company of misfits)
9AM PDT - Mass Effect 2 (Prepare to journey to the darkest reaches of space in this RPG hit)
11AM PDT - Dragon Age: Origins Awakening (BioWare’s deepest universe to date just got bigger...)
2PM PDT - Rock out with your Stratocaster (Rock Band Wireless Guitar)
4PM PDT - Aliens vs Predator (A legendary war between two of science-fiction’s most popular characters)
6PM PDT - Charge up your Xbox 360 controllers (xbox 360 controller charger)
8PM PDT - Dragon Ball: Raging Blast (This hit franchise comes to life on Xbox 360)

Please give credit to LightningDeals.com if posting on other sites - Thank you!

Re: Amazon Video Game Deal Thread .

Damn, today might be an expensive day if the deals on ME2 and DAO Awakenings are good. Certainly wouldn't mind having a second RB guitar either.

Re: Amazon Video Game Deal Thread .

The first Lightning Deal is:

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 - $46.49

I have a feeling the other sale prices will be equally unimpressive.

Might I suggest the GH5 deal for $38.99 at Amazon

What was your all's consensus on this? I'm a sucker for the film franchises, and loved the old PC game.

Nice deal, but think I already own 2 or 3 guitars, can't really justify another even if it would be only the 2nd wireless one.

I would happily get AvP if it hit the $20 range, but it won't.

Which PC game, the one by Rebellion or AVP2 by Monolith?

If the latter, then you will most likely be disappointed with AVP (360).

I surely was! My biggest gripe with it was they basically forced the player to engage in melee fighting. I can accept that if I was playing as the Alien, maybe even the Pred however there is NO way a Marine is going to enter into a melee with those two! Almost every encounter with an Alien during the first Marine mission ended up with me hitting it with my weapon or trying to block/counter the Alien's claws with my weapon. This was after I emptied almost an entire AR clip into one Alien who still didn't die. It got old real quick for me.

Also, the MP experience didn't live up to how I remembered it in AVP2. Can't really say why, maybe because I was using the controller vs the mouse/KB. The Alien controls also felt awkward; hard to navigate from floor to walls to ceiling, etc.

What's the deal with DA:OA? Is it like DA:O Chapter 2? I always though Awakenings was just a DLC pack. Or is this a combo release that replaces the original DA:O?

Thanks. Guess it was the original by Rebellion. It was many years ago. Don't remember much about it, other than a few friends and I networked our PCs together every Monday and it was our favorite game for a couple months.

I need to pass on it either way I guess. Still haven't opened the two Bioshocks I bought last month....

Very underwhelming since I have all those games above that I wanted. I may pick up the charging kit if it's a good deal though.

I would like to know as well. I have wanted to pick up the original.
