Thanks Groucho. I looked forever to find an exact copy like that and could only find it in pieces or too big or too small.

mattysemo247 05-30-08 02:09 PM

I bought 3 with no problems. She didn't need an override or anything. Also picked up Darkness for $10 ($20 b4 coupon)

Because both times I referred to it today it was there.

Well, they have a point. The 360 coupon is supposed to be "no reproductions" and I still have no idea what kind of promotion the Hello Kitty one came out of.

FusionX 05-30-08 03:12 PM

I just used a $10 off coupon on a 14.99 points card, she had to override it, but did so without even asking me about the coupon. Tons of cards still available here, both racks are over half full.

GatorDeb 05-30-08 03:17 PM

Fusion, how much would you go back and sell me each card for shipped? :) Las Vegas, NV. Or, how much per card would it be worth your while to go get them, scratch them off, and email me the codes?

Thanks! :)

Michael Corvin 05-30-08 04:01 PM

All in all I picked up 7 cards($5 ea.) and March Madness '07 for free. I think I'm done with the coupon. I got rejected twice and it felt kinda shady on my last purchase(the free game).

xmiyux 05-30-08 04:07 PM

Well if anyone has extra cards i'd be happy to pay you 10$ for a couple. I don't want anything mailed btw - just an emailed working code.

Let me know if anyone is interested.

edit: in case it wasn't clear, i was meaning i'd happily pay 10$ each for a couple cards. That way if someone snagged some extras for 5$ they can make a little profit. :)

GatorDeb 05-30-08 04:10 PM

I'm also interested in getting $10 cards, making you $5 :) I'd take 10, and emailed codes.

Raul3 05-30-08 06:05 PM

I was lucky enough to use the coupon twice this week. Both times I bought 2 cards, so it was $10 each for me. I went today at lunch but I was denied, that's OK, I guess I got lazy and didn't look well for the "right" cashier.

I may try tonight or tomorrow again to see if they accept the coupon again. I guess I just to find the right cashier. ;)

Seems a tad gluttonous, no? 10 cards?

I want to stock up until the next sale, these things almost never go on sale. And that way someone can make a quick $50 on me with ~20 minutes work :)

I bought 10 cards, but did so at the "2 for $25" price and didn't use this shady "$10 off coupon" that gets shot down half the time because points aren't the intended item.

I've still got points leftover from the CC debacle last June, but with Rock Band around now, I'm spending a lot more points on that, as well as the increasingly awesome XBLA stuff that's coming down the pipe.

There's a difference - you use the points. GD buys all the games but never uses them as evidenced by her 360Voice.

I bought 4 cards at $15 each, and sure that could be called gluttonous too - but I've been paying full price via the dashboard since I bought the system :) This is my first discount.

FusionX 05-30-08 07:53 PM

I'm stocking up to give cards as gifts. Giving someone 4 1600 point cards is a pretty nice gift, but only cost me $20. I don't need any points myself, my girl got me 40,000 for Christmas and I have barely made a dent.

Jeremy517 05-30-08 10:54 PM

I went back to a store that had previously been sold out, and they had a bunch. I asked the guy if I could use the coupon three times and he said that it was fine. I can finally stop being bitter towards the people that got a bunch :)

Oh and  at the Hello Kitty toy coupon being any less "shady" than the $10 off. All of us that got in on the sale + either coupon are fortunate.

slop101 05-30-08 11:09 PM

Almost a hundred posts just about this Target deal? You know, a good mod would've given it it's own thread after ten posts... :D

Hello Kitty coupon : Pick up two cards, clerk scans them. Hand clerk coupon. Clerk scans it. Pay $24.98 + tax. Leave.

$10 Off coupon : Pick up one card. Clerk scans it. Hand clerk coupn. Clerk scans it. Coupon reads as not valid. Clerk says "This isn't valid for this item." Customer says "Sure it is, you can use it to buy games" Clerk says "This isn't 360 software. The coupon isn't for this item" Customer says "These aren't the droids you're looking for" Clerk says "These aren't the driods I'm looking for. Move along." Clerk enters manual override.

Come on, you can't tell me those two transactions are equal in "shadiness", can you?

I'm not condemming anyone who got the $10 off coupon to work for the points cards. I have no great love of Target and really love an insane bargain, but PLEASE don't tell me those two coupons are really the same thing ethically

They're both void if copied, so we're not supposed to be able to use either one. If you have the actual Hello Kitty coupon (non-printout), then yeah, it is obviously better, but I don't think anyone here does.

The Hello Kitty one is a "web coupon" so I think a printout is legit. Now I don't think it's 100% legit, because it isn't really a "toy", but still. I mean, for example, jaywalking and arson are both illegal, but you don't need to be an ethicist to see the difference in severity.

SoonerDoc 05-31-08 01:11 AM

hello kitty coupon came DIRECTLY off the target website and was available for anyone to download and print....(although it has since been removed)

the $10 off 360 coupon was on the back of a big target ad book that was mailed to some people. this coupon was scanned and then posted online...

That wouldn't really be a valid analogy. It would be more like burning down a building with a blowtorch vs burning down a building with a match. Either way, the building still burns.

However if it was a web coupon, then I rescind my comment about them being equal; yes, the Kitty one is better. Kind of makes the "no copies" thing a bit strange though.
