Sonic Unleashed aka Old school Sonic is back!

Leaked video of new Sonic Game:

<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/VjxnhXs7Mqs&hl=en"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/VjxnhXs7Mqs&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>

Lets pray that Sega actually gets Sonic right this time.

That looks like fun, but as you noted, this is one seriously hobbled franchise. Anyone who buys a new Sonic game without first checking a lot of reviews is foolish IMO.

A franchise that has really only been good recently on the DS. I would be nice if they could bring it back on consoles, but I just don't think the Sonic gameplay works in 3D. Maybe this will be the one to get it in the right direction. People definitely want Sonic. Sonic and the Secret Rings was a million seller on Wii.

I don't know man, I think Sonic can work in 3D if they can get the controls right.

Sonic in 2.5D seems like the best thing for the series. Sonic isn't really a typical exploration type platformer game. It should be fast with some interesting platforming challenges and bosses sprinkled in. Looks like they might be going in the right direction with this one.

Looks like this one is mostly 2D with 3D backgrounds so it definitely looks like they are going in the right direction and the game looks nice. I'm hoping its good because my son loves the Sonic games and will want it even if its terrible.

This looks, plays, and feels exactly like the original Sonic Adventure from the Sega Dreamcast. Not that I'm complaining, I still find myself playing that game more than even Mario Galaxy. I miss the dreamcast.

Looks good, but the camera seems a bit nauseating.

My buddy used to tell me that's why the Genesis was better than the NES. I don't think he knew that it was a marketing gimmick.

I think the game looked pretty sweet. Very interested in seeing more as there hasn't been a really good Sonic game in awhile.

I have to disagree with that:

I liked Secret Rings. I would have liked it better with analog controls.

Yeah. Well I can't speak to Galaxy, but I found the first Sonic Adventure to be incredibly playable and fun. It wasn't Mario 64 perfect, but I had a hell of a time playing it. It was great to me.

I imported it, so I had no fucking clue what was going on, but maybe that was for the best?
