This is not true. He's still on his original console, so he can swap HD's all day long.

But what about downloads (Rock Band, GH3, etc.)?

Is that sarcastic? Seriously...I've seen some shady ass construction crews...Hell, a neighbor had one that was working on some stuff in his back yard, stole friggin plastic chairs. Not construction, but I've had change stolen out of cupholders by mechanics at a dealership. Literally pennies, nickels, and dimes. My best friend runs a used CD store, and motherfuckers steal empty cases...

But I have to say, I would bet my own 360 HD that the one who said he has an xbox has the stolen HD on the side of his machine right fucking now.

You should be able to download them again. I think once you've paid for them, you can re-download.

Look for semen samples and pubes on the console. Match that with the DNA of each and every construction worker. If that doesn't work, I suggest a shakedown.

That's incorrect, they're tied to the console not the HDD. So once he has a new HDD he'll be fine (apart from the inconvenience and loss of gameplay time he's experienced).

Well maybe if somebody had suggested something that made more sense - like a shakedown - he wouldn't have made such a comment.

No, I'm not being sarcastic at all.. I really find it that hard to believe! I mean.. Like I said.. Something like that you KNOW is going to get noticed whereas if you want to skank games etc the owner may not realize for a while..

I'm not saying things can't be stolen it's just the total oddness of stealing a 360 HDD?! I don't care how stupid you say they are.. Just VERY VERY weird is all..

I went and searched my entire house again - just in case it "popped" off (as the owner suggested) and nothing. So, I'm going to stop at Best Buy on the way home from work and pick up the 120GB HD (they will reimburse me the cost of the 20GB that is missing).

So, once I hook it in, I can go to my download history in order to redownload everything, right? Does this history go back to day 1 of my ownership?

This is correct. You will lose all your saves though, which is the part that really sucks ass.

I'm not sure of how well it will work if I ever have to use it, but this possibility is one of the reasons why I purchased that 360 hard drive backup accessory. It hooks up to your PC and makes an image of your drive.

I'm not trying to be one of those guys that says "I told you so" or "you should of had insurance" or whatever, I actually really do feel for you.

Just don't hook up your new 120GB drive until after the construction job is done.

I'll have to look into that. Do you just remove the HD and hook it into that cable?

Seems real odd these guys would steal the hd knowing they had to come back to your house. You would think they would wait until the last day of the job.
