@#$)($($@!!!!

I installed the new firmware 2.3....and everything was fine, I was plugging along and then it got to, "do you want to allow internet connection from BDs?" I go to select "yes" and it's frozen! Nothing works....help!

*edit*

Okay...nevermind. it finally worked.

Now I need to find the setting on my TV (Panny 42PX80U). It keeps popping up, "HDMI 1" every time the PS3 switches screens. Anyone know how I can turn that off?

That happens to me sometimes too. I think is just that the HDMI connection needs to do the handshake again. My guess is that it switches resolutions and that's why it needs to do the handshake again.

TheDrunkenSniper ......that's me. Feel free to add me. I am not much of a gamer, but I'm thinking buying a few games may save me $$ in the long run since drinking and gaming is cheaper than drinking downtown.

RichC2: Is that a current list of DVDTalk PSN names in the 2nd post of this thread? Maybe we can do it like FW, and have the updated info in the first couple of posts, it may make it easier for people.

Btw.....is there an easier way to add people, as I don't have a wireless keyboard, and it takes forever to type...?

Can you download stuff from the net using a PS3? My harddrive is now dead but I have just gotten all the parts for a new machine so no big deal. I was thinking of using the PS3 to download drivers and stuff like that while I get the new machine up and running.

So I started playing Lair (30 bucks on clearance at Target and Fry's right now) with the new controls... I guess having vastly lowered expectations are helping me to actually enjoy the game. Even with the new controls, the game doesn't quite control smoothly, and I have no idea what difference the new dragons make, but otherwise it's pretty polished graphically, the voice acting is decent, and it's worth the 30 bucks I spent on it.

Just picked up Warhawk a week ago and am having a lot of fun with it. Is there a DVDTalk clan or anything of the sorts?

And I don't think I've put my PS3 ID in the hat, so here it is: tlwizard81

I saw that tonight.....and I wasn't sure if it was worth it (@ $30).

How is Motor Sport.....worth buying for $30 on clearance? Also at Target.

Does Blockbuster still accept trade in games for credit?

I found MLB '07 and Madden '07 for $10ea, and I'm wondering if it'd be worth flipping the games.....

For those 2 year old games, you'd likely get $3.50 each.

Check out CheapAssGamer.com

They have a whole thread on Blockbuster trades. You may get more than $10 actually for those games (at least MLB 07) as PS3 games hold their value well there. Madden 07 might be $8 only though.....

I traded in THE SHOW 07 and got around $25 or so, but that was a few weeks BEFORE 08 was released.

CAG is definitely on my list, I've heard it thrown around a bunch.

Here is what I ended up with:

The Orange Box: $29.98+ tx (Target clearance)
Assassin's Creed: $29.99 (Best Buy special this weekend, also at Amazon.com)
Stranglehold: $19.99 (Amazon Deal of the Day.....today, FYI)

I also bought duplicates of these (flipped one set for a $9 profit at Blockbuster)

Madden '07: $10 + tx (Kmart clearance)
Tiger Woods '07: $10 + tx (Kmart clearance)

Worth $10 ea....or should I return?

I just recently set up my PSN account. Feel free to add me, if you'd like to game sometime. I play my 360 more than my PS3, but I'm on it occasionally. My PSN ID is Wick98.
