God of War 3 coming soon?

Apparently, the new PSP God of War game has this on the back cover of the instruction manual:

God of War 3 is the one game that would push me to finally get a PS3. I hope we see something at E3.

I started to add a few people from this thread as friends on my PS3. I don't have a single online game yet but I want to kind of spy and see what everyone is playing so I can pick the games I buy. My one friend plays Turok each and every night but I really hope I can find something else to enjoy online. If anyone wants to help my cause feel free to add me as well.

I was a bit bummed tonight to see that the EyeCreate software can make audio files but can't send them. It seemed like a nice way to maybe get around text chat if it worked. I plugged my 360 Vision Cam into the PS3 and while it shows up under the settings I can't get it to work with EyeCreate. Oh well....maybe there will be an Eye of Judgment deal again soon so I can justify getting the cam and game.

Whoa, that is huge! I can't see SCEA throwing hints like that unless they plan on releasing that this year.

Don't know if anyone has seen this, but if Home is anything like this it's going to be killer.

Well, yeah, GoW 3 is an obvious given, especially considering the ending of the second game. Sony making GoW 3 is as obvious as Nintendo making another Mario game.

The thing that got me excited was the ad saying "Coming Soon". Considering that Sony has given no official word on the game, I was thinking that the game would be a long ways off, no earlier than mid-2009 at least, but with that ad saying "Coming Soon" I think it will probably be released this Christmas.

One of the developers let it slip that they were working on it a few months back.

So I just bought this thing not to long ago. All the games are still a bit much and I don't see anything I care about. Then I remembered the PSN store. Is there anything on it worth picking up?

Also is playing rockband by yourself fun? I liked guitar hero ok alone.

Is there a "Corded" USB mic that works with the PS3? I don't want to use the bluetooth headset... I use the surround system for the audio...

Ugh, I downloaded Hot Shots Golf 2 off the Playstation store yesterday to see how the PS1 games looked and it was the biggest waste of $6 I could imagine. I loved the game back in the day, but it's TERRIBLE on the PS3. What's the point of this?

Terrible how? Does it not play correctly or is it just old?

Anymore news on them discontinuing the 80 & 40 GB systems and releasing a newer model? I was going to buy one yesterday and the GameStop guy told me I should wait (he's probably fired now). Does anybody know anything more about this? I saw a thread about it but it got all spammed up. What is going to be so different in the model?

The next and only one I know of is not a new model as such, but it will have MGS4 packed in with the 80G model for $500. This model will still have some backwards compatibility like the existing 80G and is maybe a decent deal for anyone who's been waiting on MGS to pull the trigger and wants to be able to play some PS2 games.

Well, there's no denying that it's "old". But on top of that, it did seem to play poorly, although that's probably just how that game plays. It's honestly been too long since I played it for me to remember exactly.

But the worst part was just how it looked. Don't get me wrong, I didn't expect 1080p resolution, but I wasn't prepared for just how bad it would be. The only thing I got any amusement from was the on-screen scan of the instructions manual.

Seriously, is anyone actually buying these PS1 games? What do you think if you have?

Any chance Sony would refund me if I called and complained?

Yes, I do. I don't buy games for the graphics. I buy them to play.

I haven't bought any of these yet, but I have definitely played PS1 games on my PS3 and they hold up fine. Good games are still good games 10-12 years later.

I downloaded SOTN and thought it was fantastic. I got 10-12 hours of gameplay easily.

Oh... What about the 120 GB white version or whatever? Is that not happening anymore?

That was never more than just rumor/fantasy.

Don't I feel like a fool! I don't keep up with these things as much as I should. Sorry for asking a question that was probably asked a hundred times already. I guess I will wait for the MGS4+80GB combo! Thanks for the help guys.

I finished both Half-Life 2 and Portal today. I couldn't pass up $35 for Orange Box at Target this week.

I'm happy to say that the performance wasn't as bad on PS3 as it was made out to be by some review sites...a few hiccups here or there with the framerate (first time I've ever even noticed frames dropping), but very playable. Load times weren't that big of a deal (at least to me), and they were overridden by the quicksave button.

I loved Portal...an amazingly fresh game in a stale genre. I zipped through most of the tutorial puzzles, and by the time I got into the meat of the game, I was completely hooked.

Anyway, based on what I've seen so far, a great bargain even at full price...and well worth picking up on PS3 if you don't have a 360. Portal alone is worth $30.
