isn't the current Coheed and Cambria song on the game a cover version?

Nope. It's the original recording. It's hillarious the first time you see Claudio Sanchez sing. The look and voice just don't match. At all.

Funny, I recently borrowed (What's The Story) Morning Glory? from the library and became hooked on Don't Look Back in Anger. I don't know exactly why, but I really love that song now and have played it in the car so much my daughter is sick of it already, so I'll certainly pick it up along with Wonderwall once I get home. Don't like that third Oasis song, though.

Anyone DL Hard To Handle? Is that track worth getting if I love the original? Is it a good cover?

Shagrath frowns in disappointment. There's a youtube link in the second post of this thread to all the DLC songs. It's not bad as far as covers go.

Just got my replacement drum heads and man do they suck ass. The actual faces are recessed by about a half inch, and they have absolutely no sensitivity. I have to hit pretty hard on the heads in order for hits to register. Fucking lame. I think I am just going to send the ones they gave me back to them, and file another rma once they get those back.

Ya, I got Wonderwall. Pretty boring to play, but fun to sing. My gf will like it.

That's what I'm afraid of. My blue drum won't register a fast roll in the middle after four or five hits, but is fine anywhere else on the pad. The rest of my set seems fine. I guess I'll live with it and not risk getting an unusable replacement.

Yeah, my previous pads (or I guess they will stay with me for now) had problems with rolls on red and blue and some slight sensitivity issues, but nothing like these. Not to mention that huge recess between the rims and the heads.

I just got the box for my drums to RMA them today. The red pad on my current set is pretty insensitive to rolls, but other than that, they're pretty solid. I know that there's instructions to fix them in the newest OXM and it doesn't seem too difficult, but I don't want to void my warranty.

People that drum a lot (like AzuriteReaction on youtube) are on their 7th set. It just looks like they're not that durable, which really blows.

Quick question (sorry if it's been answered already, and I'm sure it has):

Will the Guitar Hero III guitar work for Rock Band? (PS3 version) I have GHIII and my friend brought his Rock Band disc over the other day (just the disc itself). When we tried it with the GHIII guitar connected, the game said to attach the microphone, and it wouldn't go any further until one was attached (presumably. We didn't have one on hand to attach, so we couldn't play the game at all) Does this mean that the guitar won't work, that a microphone always needs to be connected (which wouldn't make sense, what if you just want to play the game by yourself using guitar only?), or some setting isn't right.

Sorry, I'm really a complete n00b at this, but I've been loving GHIII and would like to just pick up the disc only version of Rock Star if possible.

It's Rock Band not Rock Star.

All this info should really be in the first post:

Xbox 360
GHII Guitar works with GHIII and Rock Band
GHIII Guitar works with Rock Band and GHII
Rock Band Guitar does NOT work with Guitar Hero II or III

PS3
GHIII Guitar does NOT work with Rock Band
Rock Band Guitar does NOT work with Guitar Hero
Neither guitar works with previous PS2 Guitar Hero games
PS2 guitars do NOT work on PS3 for any music game

So in order to do BWT, do I need to use all my instruments? Or can I get away with just vocals and drums or vocals and guitar/bass?

Yikes.. I better take it easy then, I pretty much play it like a real set with hard accents. I may switch to vinyl tips.

Got my replacement guitar. It is going right back. Activates overdrive immediately. Once they receive it and release the hold on my CC I will do this all over again. Do I have to notify them this one is even worse? The original guitar I listed as having strum problems, but the replacement on seems to strum OK. I'm keeping the original because at least I can get by most of the time.

Fuck.

Standalone GH3 guitars for sale can't get here soon enough.

Do'h, brain fart! I got the title correct in the first part of my post though.

Thanks for the info. (too bad it's not good news though )
Here's a follow up question: is there any good third party guitar controller that actually works for the PS3 Rock Band? (I don't really need the drums, etc., and I've heard that the RB guitar is kind of iffy, quality wise).

I set up a GamerTag for all of us rockers, since whoever put DVDTalk Gamers together hasn't checked it since 12/13.

If you want to be in contact with all the 360 RB/GH players, send a friend request to "DVDTalk Rocks". I'll be checking it every day for new members, and all you have to do to see who's on is go to the Profile for DVDTalk Rocks and twist over to the Friends/Bio page, and look at the Friends of Friends section. Send out your invites from there and have a jolly fun time with Band Quick Play!

Should be "GHII AND GHIII Guitars work with Rock Band" for the 360.

You can do vocals and any instrument and you'll be fine.

As anyone else tried this Drum Machine?

http://andrewrudson.com/main.php

I'd like to build a little library of sounds effects and create some cool beats.

What about the PS2 version of Rock Band?

The thing Rock Band should have done is sell the bundle with just the drums and microphone, and let you use your GH guitar, or buy a guitar separately.

Not sure on PS2. Is that even out? I would assume since nothing works nice on PS3, I doubt the PS2 version will either.
