The idea that you go into events with the damage you've already accumulated is going to be my final straw with this game. If you're not close enough to a repair shop to drive close enough to where you're going, you start at a horrible disadvantage in most races. Good luck not crashing while you're trying to figure out where the race you're trying to get to is... I'm just not having any fun at all with this yet, maybe if I ever memorize the map I'll be in better shape.

There's a 1.10 patch for the game already on the PS3! Downloading it now.

Maybe it's a Burnout Revenge Total Conversion mod.

Ha ha! I read into it - it's for network stability. Some people were getting dropped yesterday if they had specific firewall configurations.

I'm starting to enjoy the game more. I've just accepted it's not Burnout and playing it for what it is. Although, I still hate racing. One wrong turn and you're fucked. Also, apparently the ONLY way to quit an event is to go into Showtime mode. What the fuck were the designers thinking? AFAIK, the map doesn't let you know if you've already done an event either. So you hop into a race only to find out it's completed... oops no backing out!

On that note, Showtime is growing on me. Still no Crash but kinda fun in it's own way.

not much of a racing fan, but LOVED Revenge. Starting to get a little dejected about the prospects of this one. Picked up the 360 version yesterday, but haven't got to play it yet.

Which version are people getting ? If you have both a 360 and PS3 which are you choosing ? I have both consoles, but picked up the 360 version for the custom soundtracks, the 360 controller and the achievements, even though the PS3 was supposedly the lead SKU....

You had me at custom soundtracks. Fuck DJ Asstomika and his EA Trax - fuck 'em right in the ear!

Same. The PS3 version may be a tiny bit prettier, but functionality and an ergonomic controller trumps it.

Actually, if you break and come to a complete stop and stand still for about 3-5 seconds, the event will end.

Yes, I'm using the 360 Wireless Wheel with it. I picked it up with the game at Best Buy, so this is the only game I've tried it on. So far I'm really enjoying it. It took a little getting used to, and I wish I could remap the buttons so the e-brake was one of the paddles. I consistently hit the change view button instead of e-brake on accident and ram into a wall

The force feedback is great and really lets you know when you've lost/regained traction. Turning is very sensitive and doesn't require huge twists of the wheel. The only think I've been unable to do is pull off a 360 flat spin, and I don't know if it's because of the wheel or not. I played the demo with the controller and much prefer the experience the wheel has given me.

No shit. I pulled out the manual to make sure I wasn't missing something. Didn't see it in there, but then again the manual has to be the thinnest I've ever seen with a game. It's about 6 pages. Not exactly chock full of helpful info. I was hoping to find a way to see if I've already done an event also. First time in a long time I was referring to a manual for help.

On the PS3 - push the directional pad (not the stick) up or down to bring up the menu and presto!

Ending an event by stopping is actually something DJ Asstomika tells you you can do. So I don't blame you for missing it.

I forgot to mention, also, there is a check-mark on an intersection if you've already completed it's challenge.

Alright. I don't feel so bad about not knowing how to end an event if the only way to know is listening to that douchebag DJ. I do feel like an idiot for the check mark thing though. I'll have to check that out later.

Well, the check-marks only last as long as you're on your current license. Once your license gets upgraded, the check-marks for the events you've passed get cleared, as the events are now a little harder on your new license.

Im loving this game. I hated the demo, but overall it's pretty fun. It sucks missing a critical turn in a race, so I try to stay in 2nd place for about 80% of the race (to follow the lead) and then "burn" ahead in the closing moments.

Online is pretty cool too. I already have the "infected" Achievement if anyone wants to get online and "catch" it from me. Can't believe I'm offering to infect you guys - sounds gay

Yep, loving this game too... even the online portion is good.

Anyone know what the trick is to unlock the "It's Showtime" achievement?

It says to "Set a Showtime Road Rule East Crawford Drive."

I have done a ton of Showtimes on East Crawford Drive and even have both the on-line and off-line records?... not sure what the difference is between those 2 anyways.... but still the achievement won't unlock.

Also.. not having much luck with flat spins.

Is that the Criterion Fever one? I'm down for it.

Not sure but I think I got 1.5m on E. Crawford it and it unlocked.

Yep, that's it.

The Showtime records are odd. It makes it look like I've set every record both online and offline. Not sure if it's really linked to the online community or not. I've had a couple runs over 2.5M but I don't think I've tried it on E. Crawford.

Hey, where is everyone with their permit/licenses? I finally got my B license yesterday after lucking out in a Road Rage! I was actually on a strip of road where the repair shop was right there, so I repaired enough times to make it.

Another note - has anyone found the Super Jump where you're passing through what looks like a giant rock donut in the mountains?!? Found that one by accident yesterday, and who knows if I'll find it again! It was very cool though.

Love this game!
