Silent Hill: Origins (PSP)

He's right about it being like a fan game, but after completing it myself, I see it more as being a really well done prequel that meets just about everything a fan could expect from a prequel. Also, the combat in SH games has always been pretty stupid, and carrying 10 TVs in your pocket isn't necessarily much more silly than being able to kill 50+ monsters with a pocket knife or a wooden board with nails, or just finding large amounts of ammunition in a hospital. Anyway, for someone who actually is looking for some kind of challenge, or extra engagement from the combat in Silent Hill games, well SH:O delivers pretty much the best in any SH game so far (that's not saying much though!!).

As much as I love his reviews, I don't see how anyone could ever go to his site and use a review to help decide on if they should buy the game or not. Hell, even the games he likes are mostly negative reviews, with a few praises here and there.

Still, the man has a great touch for comedy.

I guess it's all opinion, but with his negative Mass Effect review, well even though I thought the game was great I felt he covered some of the real issues with the game really well. However, I think SH:O is at least the 3rd best in the series (behind 2/3), and he wronged it in that review.

I agree, they're not really intended to drive purchases, but usually provide some comic relief.

Agreed. This guy gets everything right that Angry Video Game Nerd and Penny Arcade gets wrong... the funny. Yeah, yeah humor is subjective... but seriously, Penny Arcade and AVGN? Not funny. :)

I've watched a handful over the past few days. Mostly the games I've finished. I'd hate to have one ruined. The Tomb Raider one is brilliant. I'm going through that game right now and he just nails it.
