I'm in the opposite situation, I passed on GH3 (since I got burned out on I, II, and 80s), but was looking forward to playing the drums, so I bought RB. But now I'm wanting a second guitar and compatibility meant I would have bought GH3 for the game and extra guitar. But apparently I will have to wait for the Rock Band model to come out.

Don't forget that you can sing the note an octave higher or lower. As long as the note is correct, the octave doesn't matter. In other words, you can actually sing higher than the top of the meter and you'll "loop" back to the bottom of the meter (and vice versa).

This makes players play better, and not sloppy.
I couldn't care less if I'm "playing sloppy". I just want to hit the notes and make it through the song. And it's easier to do that (at least when it comes to HOPOs) in Guitar Hero.

But the overall difficulty is more manageable in Rock Band. I managed to beat the Hard campaign by myself, whereas I have hit a point in the GH campaign that I can't get past no matter how hard I practice. I just can't play it.

As a guitar player of almost 20 years, I can tell you without a doubt the note charts for GH3 are better than RB.

Haha yeah, the note charts in GH3 aren't as much fun to play but are closer to actually strumming along with the song. RB has fun note charts but they are greatly simplified versions of the song.

That said, RB's Expert mode a little TOO easy.
