Register for the 500 free points
|
I rented Blacksite last night and it's actually pretty good in single player. That's all I've played thus far as the only game I was able to get into in multiplayer was just a one on one practice because there has to be a minimum of four players in a lobby to start a game. It doesn't seem like anyone is playing it online right now.

I got the e-mail for 500 points....two of them actually....Yeah for free points, I can add that to the 6000+ I have :)

Thanks for the link mrmagoo. Think I registered for Live in early 03, but its worth a shot.
|
if you didn't add those points yet, would you be willing to sell them?
i created a Korean Live account today to get Hexic 2 for free. Took about 5-7 minutes :D |
Everyone who is creating overseas accounts, didn't Microsoft say if you are caught, they can ban your account....I know I read that somewhere.
|
think i signed up for live in fall of 2003 and changed gamertags once, oh well

Yes, I believe that people either got banned, or were warned. That is why I don't want to set up a US account just to get access to all of the extra stuff that you guys get that we don't get here in Canada.

Looks like there was another update to Tversity recently, and since then, I can't even get my 360 to find my computer. Anyone else have issues with the latest update?
|
I haven't updated TVersity since the october 8 release. I just looked at the release notes (http://tversity.com/support/releasenotes/) and they did tweak some stuff. I would go in and play with some of the settings.
|
I've never once been able to get tversity to work.
|
I am sure that I had the Oct 8th release, but got prompted for a new update over the weekend. Strange. Regardless, I could always at least get the 360 and my computer to recognize each other, now I can't. I went through all of the trouble shooting, opened up a bunch more ports, and still nothing.

So, after about 5 hours of gameplay, I've finished Blacksite. The first two chapters were good - they were fun, entertaining, and interesting to play through. But, once I got to chapter 3, all of the bugs started to show, with terrible framerate problems as well as some glitches. One time in chapter 4, I walked over to a building and ended up going right through it, enterting empty space. I also got stuck in a pillar once.
Very mediocre game in SP, but the multiplayer was okay. |

Was Blacksite seriously a contender for "good game" status? It looked like a budget title from day one. The demo was horrible.

Yeah, I didn't like the demo either.
It's a $20 game easily (Blacksite). |
I'm not sure if this was posted before, but Anandtech has a good look at comparing the original XBox 360 versus the new ones with the 65nm CPU's, including pictures of both opened up. Here's a link straight to the pics, but the entire article is decent.

Did the old Core systems (bought in May of this year) come with a component cable? My idiot brother in law bought a Core back then, threw away the box, and claims he never had a component cable.

Gamestop has component cables for cheap. I bought these when i thought my MS 360 cables were bad. They weren't. But I kept the the Mad Catz Universal cables because they worked just fine. I think Gamestop has their own brand of thsi same cable set in the same rack as these. But I also think they're made by the same company. I doubt the average person could tell any difference. http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=801798 |
