I love the Achievement points. Not only for the points but for the achievements themselves. If I see that someone "killed 12 zombies at once" and I don't have that achievement, I'll pop them a note and say congrats and as how they did it.

I agree playing games just to pad your score is kind of sucky. Also sucky are games where the majority of the achievents are for on-line play.

I like to go back and replay my games to get Achievement Points but I wouldn't rent/purchase/borrow a game just for the points.

Yeah i agree about the online achievments. Take The Darkness for instance, i love that game and pretty much got almost all the achievements for it except the bulk of the online ones. I tried but boy does thier online multiplayer suck!

I think Bungie went a good route with Halo 3. It appears all the online achievements (head shots, kills, etc) can also be attained in the campaign. So someone who could care less about MP can still get them all, and someone who doesn't care about the campaign can get them as well.

I HATE that.

They're the kind of achievements that will often bring out the cheaters, hardcore asswipes, and other lowlifes online.

I actually like the achievements. Even some of the not so stellar games, I found quite a bit of enjoyment out of them. If a game absolutely sucks, I won't force myself to play it just for the points.

I also like when the achievements have interesting or funny names, like Gears of War.
