For a fullscreen monitor, yes. Why would you want to play in fullscreen though? These games are intended to be widescreen. A 19" widescreen monitor is 1440x900.

I play my 360 on my 19" widescreen monitor, and I could never go back to playing on my fullscreen SDTV. The VGA adapter does not have a 1440x900 option though, so I set mine at 1280x768. I use 768p instead of 720p because 1440x900 is actually 16:10. 1280x720 is 16:9 and 1280x768 is 16:10. Almost every PC monitor is 16:10 for whatever reason.

I play my 360 on a CRT VGA monitor that isn't widescreen. I may eventually pick up a widescreen monitor but since i don't own a HD TV i will probably just keep holding off and upgrade my TV instead.

The games look lovely on a VGA monitor.

Congrats, Deb. Don't forget to also pick up a Xbox Live subscription card while they're on sale at CC this week. And also, if you feel like spending $$$, remember that TRU still has the buy 2 get 1 free deal this week as well.

You should be able to reactivate your old Live account once you hook your system up. Or set up a new account and get that first month free.

Actually, you can't. That's why I'm using PixyJunket360 and not PixyJunket from the one month I used Xbox Live on the OG Xbox. I even called MS to work it out and they couldn't let me use my old account.

Is TRU only online? The one in Meadows Mall said that ended last week's Saturday (I was there Sunday to pick up my CC that I left there by mistake Saturday and they found and locked).

CC is that in person as well? Might have to pick up a couple of years. Does Live ever expire once you buy it?

Expire? Just activate whatever you buy. If you get two cards, put them both in and your record will show that you are good for two years.

The TRU deal was extended to this Saturday, IIRC.

Get Halo 3, it is ridiculously fun once you find a good group of people to play with (like us

But I suck at it I was only able to beat level 1 of Halo 1. It's no fun if you're getting shot within 30 seconds of entering the map every time. Now if you let me move around and shoot you people, now we're talking

Is $80 shipped for Live, 2 Arcade games, 200 pts (which seem to be nothing), and the camera a good deal?

Nope. Not a good deal, IMO. I don't have anything to suggest, but I think that is basically SRP.

*edit - it's only $70 at Amazon shipped. A little better, but not great either.

Live is $40-$50. Points retail for 12.5 cents each, meaning 200 points is only worth $2.50. The 2 arcade games that come with it (Uno and Robotron) are only 400 points each or $10. That right there only adds up to $52.50-$62.50.

I think the camera is worthless, personally, but would take it if I could get it for "free".

Well, MRSP is $80 for the Live and camera, so it's 2 free arcade games... Robotron and Uno. Robotron I have no interest in, Uno is one game I'm buying for sure, so the deal is get Live and camera and get Uno free... hmmm... any better deals out there?

I would say that definitely is not a good deal. If you really want the camera, you can get it this package for $59 through buy.com with GCO...if you don't plan on using live chat, I would recommend skipping the camera

Like I said, Uno only costs $5 outside that package anyway. It comes down to whether you want the camera or not and what that's worth to you.

So is $45.50 for a year of Live the best deal currently?

I don't know, is it easy? I already have these must buys: Uno, Zuma, Geometry Wars.

Well, it's a multi-player game but it's a kind of "everybody can play/enjoy" type of game. In fact, the first night we had a DVDTalk game, my girlfriend came home from work, jumped in on the second controller and smoked all of us. It was embarrassing.

Do you get together and play it often with DVDTalkers? It's a $10 game right?
