Well, he's sort of right. Corvin is better off, for now, getting a bunch of very good PS2 games like Okami, Katamari, etc.
If only the US got the cat blogging show thing. I so want it.

I saw a lot of people recommending PS3 games. So will these people be thread crapping as well? He also mentioned he wanted Lair. I'm just giving him a suggestion to not get any PS3 games and use it as a BD player for now.

Doesn't really add much to the discussion, but
I'm not that anal. Plus the PS3 selection is slim pickin's so everyone would be recommending the same games anyway. Now to decide whether Stranglehold will be better for Hard Boiled or Live and Achievements.

PS3 is only good for Blu-ray. No good games for it.

Personally, I think no PS3 owner should be without the trifecta of awesome PS3 exclusives: Resistance, Formula One Racing, and Ninja Gaiden Sigma. But that's just one man's opinion.

The PS3 is my first Sony home console, and I bought God of War as my first game for it. I couldn't put it down, and eventually beat it in 3 days. I just got God of War 2 in from Gamefly, and although I'm not too far into it yet, it seems just as awesome. So yeah, those are my recommendations. I have Okami next in my queue, which reminds me I have to return RE4 for the Wii.
Ninja Gaiden is also a very good game, but if you've played the original Xbox version, you might not want to revisit it.
One more thing, I can't wait for Pixar movies on Blu-ray either

So I picked up Klonoa 2 off half.com for $14 last night, and Maximo from a DVDtalker for $7.
I think I'll hit up EB/GS today and see if I can't find one more title fairly cheap. That should be enough to keep me busy for a while.
I never played Ninja Gaiden. I may have to rent that one. The difficulty scared me off it on the Xbox.

they have an extra easy setting now so it shouldn't be a big deal.

You can get Ninja Gaiden on the Xbox for less than $10 now. With the upscaling on the 360, it looks better than some low-end 360 games. Is Sigma really worth the $60 price tag?
Ninja Gaiden Black does have the Ninja Dog (Easy) difficulty as well. I personally never thought Normal mode was that hard (it does have a steep learning curve which I guess most people can't get used to). The Ninja Gaiden games on NES were far more difficult IMO.

Both Mark of Kri and the sequel Rise of the Kasai are awesome games.
They're what the Tenchu series should have turned into, at least from a mechanic standpoint. The artstyle is like bloody Disney and the games are really fun.
I can't recommend them enough.
If I get a PS3, I'll definitely get Ninja Gaiden Sigma. I got to the end guy on the first Xbox game and enjoyed the whole thing.
As far as the difficulty goes, it's only difficult if you don't treat it as a fighting game. It's not a brawler, and every single enemy in the game can easily kill you if you don't play solid defense and, frankly, respect what they can do. Once you get in the block, block, strike mentality, you'll do fine.
I'm average at best at videogames and I managed to plow through the original. However, the boss battles are pretty tough. Great game though.

Okami is such an amazing game; it's truly beautiful. I can't believe it didn't sell better. Anyway, be sure to check it out. Also the Ratchet & Clank games are awfully fun.

I think Okami was my favorite game of last gen - you get your money's worth on that thing and then some - the game just keeps going and going and going, in a good way as it's not that repetitive and it's an action/adventure game like Zelda, so it's not lengthened artificially like a lot of RPGs are - though there are some stretches of dialog that go on a bit too long - but after a few hours you get into it enough that it doesn't become too big an issue.
And just get Ratchet & Clank 1-3 and play them in order - the most fun shooting/platforming you will ever have.

For Stranglehold, I think it's simply a case of waiting for the reviews of both the game, and the blueray movie extra. If they manage to produce a great HD version of this awesome movie, then surely it's worth it, but if it's just scaled up from old source material, then you may be better off with one of the dvd releases. Either way, a cool bonus still.
For PS2, Bully is great, but you may want to wait for the 360 or Wii version later this year. I'd also say FFXII but you put the foot down there
. Since I mainly use my ps2 for rpg or rpg strategy gaming, then I'll stop here, but just finally mention that there are some dirt cheap classic game compilations for ps2 that you may not be able to find on other platforms (or won't work on 360 emulation).
