The Blue Dragon cartoon premiered on Cartoon Network Saturday. I added it to my DVR Schedule and caught the first episode. It was okay, they change up some plot elements so far and the voices are different, but it doesn't seem too horrible.

Since this thread's has now been bumped, I'll have to chime in that this was the best $15 gaming purchase I've made in years (thank you Target clearance from 3 weeks ago; I hear it's $10 there now if they still have a copy).

I can see how reviewers tagged it with 'same old, same old' type of comments, but since it's been quite a while since I've played a JRPG, this didn't feel the least bit stale, personally.

And the game indeed puts on a clinic on how not to craft achievements. If one can put in 50 to 70 hours, complete the game, yet only earn 10-20% of the achievements, that's a design failure.

Just finished this right before I sent my Xbox off. It was a nice game. Not perfect, but good. Infinitely better than the demo led me to believe.

I'd be up for a proper sequel on the 360. Hopefully they fix some of the screen tearing though. That was some of the worst I've ever seen.

As for the achievements, I finished with 430 without too much trying. I really had no interest in going back and getting perfects in any of the mini games, which aside from Marumaru's voice were my least favorite part of the game, but the collection ones and the level ones weren't bad at all IMO.

For the 8 or so people who really liked the Xbox 360 game, the sequel arrived on the DS a few weeks ago. It's way better than the 360 version and packs about 25-30 hours of play. Gameplay is similar to that of Kingdom Hearts where and not like the 360 version. It's called "Blue Dragon: Awakening". Skip the "Plus" version as it's just an RTS game (not bad though).

Thanks for the heads up -- I wasn't aware it even existed.
