I've never seen Heroes.. but this makes me laugh hysterically for some reason. It has the be the content look on Iwata's face and the extended pause on that frame after the flash over dozens of games in fast forward.

I like the bob-bomb at the end..then the explosion.

Wii Ware proposals already in the 100's

Matt Martin 11:49 (BST) 11/10/2007

Download service proving popular with developers

Nintendo's upcoming Wii Software service, known as Wii Ware in Japan and North America, is already proving popular with developers, according to company president Satoru Iwata.

"We've already received proposals for over 100 titles from software development companies," Iwata said during a press conference this week, according to a Kyoto Shimbun report translated by IGN.

"We've made a platform for developing software at low cost, and would like to offer a new business chance based around a battle of ideas," he added.

The Wii Ware service is set to offer users new downloadable games designed specifically for the home format, and can be purchased via the Wii Shop

Titles so far announced for Wii Software include Dr. Mario, Pokemon Ranch Channel, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles and Bomberman.

Hopefully developers will come out with really new innovative game ideas!

Chris

Did anyone else get all the Wii updates last night? I updated the Wii to version 3.1, (which allows USB keyboard connectivity and some other stuff I didn't check on yet), the Everybody Votes channel had an update and the Browser channel had an update. Hopefully the keyboard can be used in the browser now.

darkside 10-11-07 04:05 PM

I did all the updates. Browser works with the keyboard now.

So what online games are there now for the Wii?

Madden 08
Mario Strikers Charged

Anything else??

shumway 10-11-07 04:57 PM

I believe NBA Live '08 does as well.

When the fuck are they going to release a NHL game for Wii?

Am I the only one getting good, long use (thats what she said) out of my Wiimote batteries? I've read articles saying that everyone needs a battery charger since the batteries die so quickly.

I've played some Wii Sports but mainly about 15-20 hours of Metroid and my battery indicator still has 2 bars. I have the volume and vibration on.

Has anyone played or seen reviews for "Anubis"? It's only $19.99 and it looks like it could be fun but I haven't heard anything about it.

That looks like a lot of micro-managing. Are the other sports games (football, baseball, etc...) that in-depth?

I don't think it's nearly as complicated as it looks...and the idea that I can just point at the man or spot that I want to pass the ball to is brilliant.

I couldn't care less about soccer, but I may own two soccer games in the near future if this is as intuitive as it looks.

I finally picked this up as part of my B2G1F Toys R Us run and we are loving this game. I wouldn't even begin to argue it being worth more than $20 and it definitely has a few broken games like the football toss and the electic wire one that are flat out impossible. Overall though it is a lot of fun to play as a family game and I like all the unlockable junk. We also compete pretty hard for the high scores on the super games.

I also picked up RE4 for the Wii, but don't know when I will be up for replaying RE4. Feels good to actually buy a comple of Wii games after all these months. Can't wait for Guitar Hero III.

I nearly bought Power Pros, but MLB07 for PS3 was the same price and it won out.

I just downloaded Super Mario 2 Lost Levels, and it has to be one of the hardest games I have ever played. If Nintendo of America released this back in the 80s you would have had a lot of pissed fans. I don't think an Internetless 7 year old boy like me back then, would have been able to get pass level 2.

That is why it never came here. Japanese gamers love brutal difficulty and this was kind of a game for SMB pros. The US got the better version of SMB2 so I have no complaints.

On the contrary, from what I've always read, it's the other way around. Games are usually made more difficult when released here than in Japan.

May depend on the game. I can think of many games like some of the Final Fantasy titles that were made easier for the US. I believe the GameCube Fire Emblem also had an easy difficulty added for the US.
